Surprisingly the transformation to robot mode was not as difficult as people make it out to be, although there are some pinned pieces that feel rather tight. Also the waist doesn't want to tab in any further, and I don't wanna force it in without breaking it. But I think I'm going to leave it un-tabbed to access the waist swivel. He feels really durable too and I haven't gotten any paint chipping yet but I'm thoroughly impressed with this figure, also I'm surprised that the backpack doesn't bother me at all

there are a few clearance issues in vehicle mode with rolling but I'm still glad I bought this!

It's scary at first, but you definitely can clip in the chest to the abs better than that. Afterwards, if you want to get more waist swivel you'll loosen the joint at the back of his waist/lower back, rather than the front.

    YouTube (Legacy):
To get said waist clicked in completely, apply pressure to the back half of the waist first, a gentle squeeze to bring it all together should work. Then you should be able to press the front of the torso down and click it in as well. It’s rather satisfying, actually.

Off topic but is there still a super hi-res coloured file of that Guido Guidi art floating around? I'm sure I had one a few years ago but can't find it.

Well I can't really loosen the back of the waist without untabbing the front

Just an update after a day of handling him.

I’ve started to notice miniscule paint-chipping from the other painted parts and I don’t see any visable chips apart from a part of his kneecap and the upper part of the right crotch flap. No problems with the chromed parts fading however but since I had the chrome rub off on my MP-28 Hot Rod, I’m pretty damn cautious when handling those parts.

Also nevermind about my previous comment about the waist tabs, I’ve actually gotten access to the actual ab-crunch joint, which was really stuck there and I felt very uncomfortable trying to almost pry it out and it looks as if the blue paint dried on the tab making a solid connection since it has a blue paint on it.

Also I think it looks as if the redpaint is fading as some edges have become defined and worn looking and I’m wondering if this issue is widespread on most copies or not, it’s more apparent on the backpack, the button for the voice feature, the pectorials and the lower arms.

(I don’t know how well the camera is picking it up but I hope it shows)

As for my opinion, it hasn’t changed at all, but it’s easy to understand why collectors choose 3rd party alternatives since the official releases have all these QC issues and at a high asking price too.

    I still love this guy

Does someone know if the issues with this figure were addressed on the new releases?

There haven't been any new releases, just one initial run. We'll know about fixes based on when MP-49 comes out at the end of this month.
