MP 44 has to be one of the best MPs out there right now. His posability alone is worth it. The transformation is challenging enough to be interesting and satisfying when done. He’s right up there with Mp Megatron.
All I’m waiting for now is the toy deco!!!

    This. +1.
Nobody realises that MP44's red paint is a nice glossy color in person. He definately looks tre premium on the collection shelve!

From what I read, it seems that their are enough users who have broke the knee despite claiming to be careful. I think tman reviews said it's bound to break based on how it was made and the materials used..

At least TT should offer to send replacement parts regarding the knee ratchet..I remember in some videos like Paik that the part should be diecast or something...

When there are issues with fanstoys such as their warpath, they have sent replacement parts to sellers who then intern forward them out to their customers.

MP44 is a faulty figure for many many people. The knee design has its flaws. If some are lucky, cool, but when you pay that price everyone should have the same kind of luck, shouldn't they?

I love that figure, but I shouldn't have spent that much and if I had known these issues would happen, I would not have bought it.

I understand why you defend it because it has its awesomeness, but there has been too much issues to forget about them.

No I don't. I am on the fence of getting it..

that said I have many other TT masterpiece, hot rod, rodimus , the 3 Datsuns , and 2 seekers.

For fanstoys, my soar had an issue with its neck, and after contacting them, they sent me a replacement part free of charge.

Bro, as long as you know you might get some issues with the knees you will have to fix easily yourselves and some paint chipping, then get him. He is awesome but he is a collectible, not a toy...

it’s not “some are lucky”. Pretty sure it’s the majority. Even in the MP-44 fix thread, which one would assume was frequented most by people looking to fix their MP-44, there are 100 people vs 60-odd without broken knees.

don’t get me wrong, it sucks. Sorry it happened to you (or anyone), I remember how excited you were about the figure. But in English we use “some” to mean less than the majority, and that isn’t the case here.

One last question. I've read and seen that if one moves the upper leg joint first, slots the blue tab into the designed slot, and then moves the bottom part of the leg this avoids the damage to the leg. Is that true?

Yes. This was designed with hard stops so the knee joints bend in sequence: upper first then lower second. Unfortunately they used a plastic much too soft to functionally behave as a hard stop.
Being aware and bending the knees in sequence will probably mitigate this issue.
The “broken knee” is actually hard stop bending out of the way and the ratchet not engaging. The knee is 100% functional just without the clicks. Not defending it. being honest. Fix is easy.

That's great! Just treat MP44 like an expensive super car and highly poseable high-end collectable.

Transform him gently and follow these very detailed steps by the awesome Japanese reviewer Wotafa.

He certainly knows how to treat high quality collectables with respect and patience!

By the time the likely inevitable 2nd release rolls out the knees might be fixed so that the legs can move the way the designer intended instead of the way they turned out by final production. It was made to pose just like the cartoon, not treated as if it's a resin garage kit. Another reason I don't mind waiting. If I already had it, I'd be willing to perform the fixes myself.

Since I don't have it, I can save up in the meantime.

I know that and that was not my impression at all but nevermind...

Indeed, the fix is super easy, you should just not have to worry about the knees or perform any fix at all. That was all I was saying.

That is another thing that should not have happened in my opinion but it's also an easy fix. But I agree with you.
