Thanks for that! Checked mine and hadn’t realized she had the front butt going on. Got her all turned around and she’s feeling much better now.
I never even noticed that my Carly was rockin' a pelvic thrust.... fixed now. Thanks!
Who else still hasn't opened their MP-44 Optimus Prime because they're waiting till Christmas??
I swear I saw a couple of others doing the same! Stay strong!
I haven't opened mine because I don't have time!
I think the shins on the back of the truck are unappealing and the proportions aren't super robot enough like MP-44. Just what I prefer though. Reminds me of an MP-10 with a more kibbly alt mode.
I try and be objective, but that knee issues seems pretty serious. I salute those that got MP-44 early and sacrificed their's to alert us to the issue.
But it seemed more than just a few. It looks like more widespread than that. I see how that's big issue for the price.
the knee issue is all about the over engineer. as long as you all know how to manipulate the joint correctly , it will never break. Mine don't even break yet.
that said . It's a shame. Takara did went too ambitious for this figure that they shoot half of their toes out. I still love the figure but man , the experience definitely bring down the value of it a bit.
I don't like those who never have the figure but coming in and mock other buyers for being stupid to pay for this figure.
I opened the BOX, but I haven’t done anything other than inspect the contents. I haven’t had the guts to try and transform this plastic origami yet.
Same here. I've had it for about a week and while I've opened the box, and "read" the instruction manual carefully, I have not sat down to transform him yet. Hoping I don't have knee problems
Most of the chipping on the yellow comes from not correctly aligning the red double jointed forearm panels correctly. Wotafa was able to show this pretty well without the use of any words, which is pretty impressive. Basically those parts are on double hinges and you want them pushed as far forward towards the hands, rather than back towards the elbows... if they're not shifted forwards towards the hands, those red panels bump against the yellow painted parts on the sides of the waist. As for the middle section of waist/yellow, I think a lot of that comes from mishandling the assembly of the Matrix chamber, and the armatures it's attached to. That's probably the hardest part of the transformation, getting the clearance to fold that matrix chamber in and out, and the structural pieces for that can bounce off the center of the waist if you aren't sure of what you're doing, and are moving it back and forth a bunch to find the correct clearance for that matrix chamber. I haven't transformed it that many times myself, and I don't have it down completely pat, so I'm very slow and careful when doing that part.
But the point is, it's all doable without damaging the yellow. I don't have one chip on my yellow and I've done it a few times. I also put two coats of future on there, as a precaution. But now that I have learned the figure a bit, I'm not sure it was even necessary. Except to protect it during the first couple transformations when I didn't entirely know what I was doing.
FWIW, I don't think it's that bad, and this is coming from someone who strongly dislikes these origami transformations. Some of the magic of Optimus/Convoy is lost for me when all of the cab isn't on the torso and has to go into the legs.
Wotafa's videos helped TONS. Though I will concede that those are like 20-30min each....
Loving the humans
Even though their joints pop off a lot
Amazing! Yup, those figures are fun to mess with, especially because of the magnets.
What’s the purpose of this small piece near the heel?
Mine is stressing
Looks like a stopper that limits the movement of the ankle.
Click 3 times to move up and down.
If you transformation the legs, it is recommended that you unfold this small part before housing the side panel.
MP44 Optimus Prime VS
TE-01 OP Leader
I checked out my Carly figure more closely after seeing someone upthread mention it and sure enough her pelvis area was backwards! Looks much nicer turned around! (Sorry no pics I snapped one but it was too blurry and I didn’t have time to work on it)
Honestly, I think TE-01 looks better in THAT pose. I say that as one that prefers the look of MP-44, but in that pose, even though TE can't do the level foot, he just looks so much cleaner...and I think that's what sticks out the most in that pose. Stand them up straight or do a kneeling pose, MP-44 will probably shine, but this round goes to TE...
