@Draemonus If anything, despite all its "part molding and design mistakes" the quality should be the BEST of the 3 optimus offerings. If you've held an MP-44 before, you'd respect the undeniable quality. I will concede that everyone defines quality in different ways and that your definition of quality may be different from mine! :D

I want to TRY to stay as middle of the road with MP-44 but it is very difficult. I stay away from comparing it to MS-01 or TE-01 as much as I can, lest my true colors show and I get branded as a hastak shill. That aside, MP-44 looks and feels exquisite. Even if you hate the toy, hate the direction MP line is going, can't afford it or whatever... there can be no denying that MP-44's material/build/finish is in another class: the beautiful luster in the paint, the buttery smooth ratchets, the perfect weight, that safe feeling you get when you hold it. Yes, it's a billion times more expensive and it certainly has its flaws, but the one thing I will vehemently defend is the "quality" of this toy.
I have ms-01 and te-01. They look good in their own way and I 100% respect what they've done, but I can't put them in a crowd of Masterpieces let alone compare them to MP-44. The difference is that apparent. Even my 0% transformers anything fiancee can pick out the few 3rd party figs that I have by means of "feeling cheap" or "doesn't look right". (among this was lavenderwave, but rightfully so).
I TRULY LOVE MY HOWLING METEOR, DOWNBEAT, OP-EX, AND QUIETUS...
But they all either feel flimsy and/or don't look right in my small, out-of-box Masterpiece display. I'm sure some aspect of that is the mismatch in design language, but a lot of it also has to do with the finishing. It's a big reason all the 3p offerings i buy are for play and not to stay. OK maybe not quietus. That one is pretty good.
@Dean ML i totally agree. I mean, maybe not as a blanket statement, but the "feels cheap/looks cheap/is cheap" sentiment is real.

I agree with everything except the Meteor comments (don't have the others, but Downbeat is my Jazz if TT don't give him to us pretty quickly). I think the MakeToys Seekers look great in a toon accurate MP style and scale collection

Ok... Do you even have MP44 at all? Or are you basing your posts on the bad stuff thats been reported on the boards? Which happens to be more of a user error caused by first timers playing roughly or afew bad apple samples and batches of MP44?
Well... I suggest that if you dont like the new official Optimus Prime release, kindly go back to o your 3rd party Prime thread then... ;)

MP line and G1 OP only;)
    I agree.

First, the MP-44 is an excellent figure and will not blame anyone who likes it.

To that premise, I don't think the product that needs to be fixed after purchase is great.

Hmmm, Take a look at this thread: WD40 affect on plastic?

I would use silicone based lube instead

That's cool and 44 shouldn't have any knee problems (both my copies are fine) but I also feel like some of the posters here who like to make out like he's an overpriced qc disaster because there's a possibility they'll have spend 20 min unscrewing his knee and using some glue should probably avoid buying a car or house.

Are the antennae curved at the ends or actually bent? Seems like pretty much everyone had curved ones.

Though to me “bent” is what I got.

    @Blazing Mewtwo,
If you have time, turn Curly's waist 180 degrees.
Because, "the ass front woman” she is very sad.

So I'm designing my own MP Optimus, and I'm taking into account the transformation. What do you guy think about the proportions ? The truck mode needs more tweeking, but I'm hoping the bot mode looks good.
