Update: The previous time I had moved my mp-44 around, the lower knee rathcets had given out after around 3 weeks of play. It's been sitting on my bookshelf with megatron for a couple of weeks now. Yesterday, I pulled it off the shelf to let my brother in law play with it when i heared click click click click click click click. the lower knee ratchets work again! I thought "impossible" so i yanked it out of his hands and tried it. yep they're back??
I guess good old OP just needed to regenerate.

Yeah~! I'm not really sure but i'm very happy about it! Maybe the softer plastic has some viscoelastic properties that I don't understand and leaving it motionless has made it reconstitute itself for the time being...Or the fresh Seattle air caused the polymers to cross link and become more rigid! just kidding.
I remember the left knee went out after a week and the right knee went after three. After multiple fearless actuations, I've decided both are working again. Time to leave him in a heroic pose and never touch him again. Schrodinger's knee.

 

Do you have MP Ratchet? Maybe your toys come to life when you’re not there and Ratchet fixed Prime’s knees.  

Interesting development though. I’ll have to see if my 44’s right knee behaves normally after leaving it alone for a few weeks.
