Yea, the head and paint kinda really changes how it feels. The figure is nice, but the face is kinda dead inside.

I had some house work to do which took away more of my Sunday that I would want. So I wound down by taking some pictures.

I wonder why people don't care about the trailer and the accessories that comes with it, I personally like the trailer, it is a fundamental part of the alt-mode and the drones are a nice little touch.

You mentioned "engineering" which got people confused. Changing the paint and head does not involve engineering. The later has more to do with transformation, etc.

It's mostly the price and preference. If given the choice, I think a fair amount of people would forgo the trailer to get Prime by himself cheaper similar to MP-1 with minimal accessories.

Also, there are some who value the MPs for their display value rather than their play value, so accessories don't do anything for them if they're just displaying, accessories could be good for a few poses and photos but then go into storage.

As for the trailer, someone like me who lacks shelf space has issues keeping it displayed - so some might not even be using the trailer at all so to them it doesn't seem necessary, even if it's a fundamental part to the character.

Because "they" all thought that without the trailer, the figure alone would be priced at 150 to 200(?). Nope. Takara was determined to charge an arm and a leg for this figure. If it didn't come with a trailer, it would still be 350 (MSRP and NOT AJP), because Beast Wars Megatron was already priced at 325(?).

Fortunately the people's opinion counts seems to like all these "useless" accessories.

Although I think 3rd Party has moved ahead of Takara in terms of engineering and QC, I do still think that TT is still the top dog when it comes to capturing the essence of a character in their MPs. I would look at some 3P figures and I would be like : "yeah they look alike, but there's just something ... that's missing."

Now how much of that "magic" is worth to a collector, only the later can say.

Well to be fair, most people buying the figure would be predisposed to liking the accessories. Now, if the question had been put to everyone "would you like to get the figure at half the price without the accessories?", the answer might be different.

I can't speak for everyone but I don't care about Prime's trailer because it's really not integral to the character(in robot mode). All the time I had MP-10 the trailer spend 95% of it's time in the box. Aside from 'completing' the alt-mode I find it just takes up space and doest really add that much value to the package. Even with the original G1 toy it's always felt non essential to me...same goes for most of the rest of the accessories MP-44 comes with, all I ever really needed was the ion blaster.

What are your issues with MP-36? My IT-01 only has only his left ankle that is loose. But severely, I doubt any pledge can solve that issue. What is the normal use of that product? Maybe I can try finding some in France?

Also, can’t stop playing with my MP-44. Such an amazing figure it makes me excited as if I just received it every time I pick him up. Concerning paint, I only have a small place where you turn the front wheel upside down for transformation that has a small mark. I will wait for @BrutiKing ’s guide to airbrush that part. Also, @BrutiKing ,how do you make sure you make the right mix of paint? Do you use a balance or some syringe to make sure you have the right amount of each?

There’s a mixing set called Mr. Mix II. Pretty useful stuff. A mixing spoon that comes with it can be used to scoop paint, the you put it near the paint you’re trying to match to judge how close the mixtures are.
