MP-45 is actually licensed. It's a semantic quibble I know, but it is. It's just not a real world accurate alt mode. Licensed =/= real world accurate.

Oh mb. I meant real world accurate, tbh I don't even know if what I posted was coherent at all. Tired squabbling on my end. I'll fix it.

Just to throw in a recent theory I’ve had. Perhaps they’re trying to elevate the G1 toys to new heights for their respective modes. Think about it. The Diaclone figures had extremely accurate car modes but inaccurate bots. Their MP updates have more details of the real cars, and the robots are more toon accurate.

Sunstreaker is a great example. The original was a very accurate car, but the MP gave us lights, doors and an optional change to make him a real Lamborghini. Convoy 3.0 also shows this, now having a flatter truck bed and opening doors. Both of them increase the toon imagery of their robots to a large degree.

Bumble 2.0 as well. The robot is considerably toon accurate. But the alternate mode feels like an upgrade of the toy. Achieving the same chibi look of the toy, but with opening doors and other features that the license gave.

Pretty sure that's Super Italian Red. All the points I mentioned are from posts Brutiking made either in here or the fix thread. Same for the ones from Jarrod.

I like the direction of the line personally. So I sure hope it stays that way.

I think the alternate look for Sunstreaker was more Lamborgini being difficult about being willing to license a toy that didn't emulate the countache perfectly if I remember correctly. Otherwise Sunstreaker probably wouldn't have had that feature and could have been a much simpler design.

I like these words. They’re simple but they mean a lot.
Oh yeah I totally agree. On a practical level it was for that reason. But that’s exactly my point, it has more realistic details, as in he’s an actual car.

This guy is so bendy, and he holds dynamic poses quite well.

It'll take some time to read too! I'm on the 28th page and I've only finished the paint matching :/

Sorry it took so long to post, but I've been messing around with Prime since I got him. I like to formally announce I'm retiring TE-01 on my mixed MP shelf, for Prime 3.0 is just too good when handled right. Yeah his transformation can get a little tough with the hoops you had to do to make parts click, but when I had him in Robot Mode I couldn't put him down. He's sturdier than I thought he was, a bigger surprise than Megatron 2.0 whose loose elbow ratchet and knee swivel still eludes me (send help, but don't make me take apart my precious Megs)

So i fixed the bent antennas, just bend it the opposite way, without dipping in hot water. As an added precaution, i kept the head inside the trailer tray for storage..
