My copy is still mint. But overtime, it may become crud like others have shown.

If TT provided warranty repair/replacement, that would be wonderful. Pretty sure they don’t.

The fact AJP has taken down their listing should speak volumes. 30? They wouldn't even bat an eye .......

Do they have a warranty for domestic Japanese customers?

It would be surprising if TT don't.

Arcadia and Bandai do warranty work for the domestic buyers of their toys there, fwiw.

Probably been other returns also like paint apps and what not too, but you can only eat $243 dollars and loss of a unit during the return process so many times before it starts adding up. I just hope they don't decide to reevaluate international shipping. Especially if those returns are outpacing domestic ones.

I didn't have to eat any of the return cost. My shipping back to Japan for a replacement was $209. Amazon refunded the entire amount back to my card the same day they received it.

209 return shipping equates to negative margin for sure. If it's just one, it's fine, but there must have been A LOT.

I would love to do the fix, and I am doing another MP-44 fix from France I’m arranging, but the shipping fee wouldn’t be the nicest...

Thanks for the reply. On my copy it’s impossible to use the lower joint first because of the blue tab, as you said. And my blue tabs seem to go into the white slots easily without resistance so I’m hoping it will keep working. Very odd that yours started to fail. I’m wondering if the part inside that people are gluing gets stressed every time the knee is bent and eventually fails for some copies. Hopefully not! But at least the glue fix seems to be working and it doesn’t sound too difficult to do.

Here's another pic of Maketoys meteor with the Mp-44 Starscream head on it. Modded a copy of the neck peg for Prime to fit on the Maketoys body. Fits perfect. May end up offering these up for sale if anyone's interested. Also may adjust the color of the peg for future ones

    Ebay:
You can just contact the customer service sending an e-mail or with the chat. You can arrange a replacement directly there.

Exactly. I didn’t bother playing the lottery and waiting to see if the knees on mine would eventually fail, I just applied the fix straight away even if they functioned perfectly, and never worried anymore!

Really? That fix is so easy, there is no need to send it for someone else to do it. Just follow the instructions in the dedicated thread and everything will be perfect!

Someone in France? Is he on the boards? I wish we could have some sort of French community.

@Gamerlingual I have zero experience in modding my figured and this fix is a first. You can do it mate! I know it is frustrating to get it fixed for an expensive figure, but it is what it is. Just watch out for the flying springs. I do believe that someone has posted a youtube vid that followed @BrutiKing's fix

    Goodluck and all the best!

What's happening is that the housing for the ratchet is giving way. The material is too weak and once it starts bending it allows one side of the ratchet to move without the ratchet getting engaged. This effectively turns the whole thing into a friction joint. Because the tolerance is weaker than the top ratchet it will now engage first, when trying to bend the knee at all.

They do for Japanese customers only

Yes, I also used it for the pieces of the Phoenix legs. :)
