I've had so much fun fooling around with Spike and the trailer makes me kind of wish they had incorporated the magnets in their Omega Supreme and other city bots.

Found one paint chip in the waist (and two on the inner side of one of the white thighs). Not really a big deal in and of itself, but it's frustrating because all I've done with him the last four days or so was pose him. Those chips were not there the first time I picked him up today. Exactly why I don't like figures to be fully painted.

Normally I'm not a fan of toyhax stickers on MPs, but if they could come up with something durable to go over that yellow on the waist, I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

Tabbing in the blue piece is my main problem, it just wont tab together. It's like as if something somewhere is causing resistance.

I've tried the Knee trick, but just pushing the knees up one click seems to take them too far and then nothing can be pushed together at all.

Sooo... I had a generous friend swap my terrible Prime for one that he got stuck with that came missing parts and amalgamated them into one super-nice complete Optimus Prime. I also found that stupid spring on the very top of my tallest shelf. This guy is a BLAST to pose, but completely decimated my plans to relocate my current Autobot collection sans Dinobots. I still think that he's not worth his MSRP...

And to lighten the mood, a lame joke.

What do you get when you have more than one Prime in the same room?

This figure's articulation is really outstanding. TT definitely didn't make a mistake when they decided to incorporate action figure elements into their figure. I mean you can argue with the 3P guys all day regarding sculpt, backpack, etc, but when it comes to personality, this figure blows those away to kingdom come.

One of my knees went out unfortunately ... do you need to use Gorilla glue for the knee fix? I know some ppl say glue is bad on plastics long-term, but I really just wna get my Prime fixed asap as it really blows putting down over $320+ on something faulty out the box ... gotta get that bad taste out of my mouth pronto!

I used this and it worked like magic. My knees are great. I reccomend lubing (wd40) up the upper and lower ratchets and the sliding knee if needed. I held the partd together for about a minute then taped them together to set. Waited about an hour or so made sure it set then retaped for 24 hours then assembled the following day. No problems since. I tried super glue and silicone first, but they wouldnt set. The gel did it for me.

Gorilla Products are great. That’s all I use now. If I hadany complaint, it’s that their products work too good. Still, a recommend from me.

I concur. I used their silicone to bond my aluminum rails that hold my leds on glass display and the hold is unbelievable. I've experimented with others before I settle with that and it was unmatched. Others made nasty bubbles in the glue, didnt hold well, etc.

So did you just follow the main tutorial for the knee fix located on this site? To be honest I’m pretty daunted bc I’ve never had a great deal of success with self-mods but with his knee flopping about I guess my hand is forced at this point ...

    MP-44 Knee fix thread

On another note, here ya go: 95% done
    43DFB59B-9CD0-4D10-A645-CE8E011EB22C.jpeg
Tutorial coming in a week or so. It’s long enough that I’ll probably put all the other fixes into it, transformation assistance, pointers, and make it a PDF lol. Might take a while, but it should be good. I also have a lotta stuff to do, so I can’t guarantee the speed of delivery for this “manual”

Edit: my personal colour matching will also be put into this pdf

Half the key is to take your time and once you disassemble a section, keep everything in some sort of order. That will help to cut down the worry of losing parts, screws, springs or your way back once you reassemble him. @BrutiKing and @Jarrod has everything covered as far as the knee fix goes. You'll do fine.

Hmm. One of the hip ratchets on my MP-44 now has a softer click than the other hip when I swing his leg forward or backward.

@BrutiKing or @Agent 539 do either of you have thoughts on what might be happening in that joint?

Edit: after posting this I saw the post in the MP-44 appreciation thread about this very issue and the fix that @Jarrod posted on Facebook. Thanks for that info, dude! :)

One of mine has always been a softer-sounding ratchet than the other, but there's been no change in either leg's movements or a sense of the ratchet deteriorating. It may be fine so long as the softer clicking leg doesn't feel weak to you.

Thanks for that input. I suppose it’s possible that it was always like that on mine and I didn’t notice until now (I put him in truck mode last week and just transformed him back to robot mode). Not having him in robot mode for a few days I may have forgotten if that’s how this hip was from the start.

I don’t think the leg with the softer click feels any weaker than the other, at least not so far.
