ebay and their mislead title lmao
I was waiting for this......wow...just......WOW.....
Thanks. I sent them a cancellation and will order the Acrysion version. Suck it seems to be impossible to find in the US, but it's not like my MP44 is going anywhere lol
I know it is carried in Canada, so I'd assume it's carried in the US, but sadly, I checked with the store I usually go to, and it's out of stock.
Huh, that pic shows that Prime's trailer deco is actually just a fabric wrap around the trailer - not actually molded/painted that way. Interesting. Guess that was the easiest means to an end for the 5 second shot.
Anyway, sorry, back to everyone's regular scheduled advice swapping of how to fix all the issues of this very inexpensive figure...
This is the stuff, right? https://www.amazon.com/GSI-Creos-Acrysion-Acrylic-Orange/dp/B00I3C9W60
Such a shame I can’t spend more time with mine. Looking at him when going to sleep is a great feeling. This truck mode is so realistic yet so cartoon accurate. The chrome and paint are so shiny it instantly stands out wherever you put him in the room.
Yup!, but $9 is a bit much. It's supposed to be around $3.
I didn't know a chrome marker exist. Thanks a lot for mentioning! I'm going to use it on my perfect grade strike gundam pistons in the knees and combat knifes and other gundam model kits yeah finally!
Exactly this for hand brushing. It's such a perfect match too, you dont need to worry about repainting the entire part, just carefully touch up the scratch.
Holy shit you’ve outdone yourself!
I’m trying to get work done at the office and I’m completely hypnotized by the sheer awesomeness of this GIF! Fantastic job!!
I'm no expert on painting but I put two coats of Pledge Floor Finish (Future) on the yellow and don't have a single paint chip so far. Even though he's been transformed four or five times. No discoloration or other visible changes to the appearance either. If you hold it up sideways to light you can see a bit of it on the edges where the yellow meets the white on his waist. But you have to have it held right up to the light at exactly the right angle and about two inches from your face to even see it.
I've transformed mine about 10 times, and the only tiny yellow chips I got were two corner on one piece, from my own rough handling when I took apart the waist. Nothing from transformation at all. Just gotta watch those red arm panels.
Just looks like it's a curtainside trailer - sides open right up like curtains so you can get stuff in and out quick. But now you mention it - strange choice of trailer for Prime - we all know he should be a box trailer!
The perfect gif doesn't exi...
Damn, even after clear coating... thats grim.
I'm thinking I'm going to keep this in robot mode and wait a year or so, see if a decent ko company does one of these I can mess with.
The crotch is easy to protect. I just put the clear plastic piece back over it. In fact I have another fix for the vehicle mode. I'll try and take a pic when I transform it back to robot mode.
TI believe TT & all other 3rd party offerings misinterpreted Optimus’ crotch & thigh pigmentation. It should be chrome or a bright silver. Prime’s crotch is the bumper of his alt mode especially based on the cartoon. The g1 toy had it right. I even went back and examined a few G1 episodes like “War of the Dinobots”, “Kremzeek”, and “Megatron’s Master Plan...”. Look at Grimlock’s Dino arms & tail (chrome parts), they are the same color as Prime’s smoke stacks, ab grill, crotch, thighs, & gas tanks (chrome parts). Even when Prime is next to Ratchet & Wheeljack there are differences.
Sorry for the delay. Here's what it looks like on mine. No stress on the plastic.
