    Nobody forcing you to buy.
Or to post in a thread about something you're not interested in, either.

Amazing review from Bobby as usual. He absolutely hit the nail on the head. It's the best Prime out there by a long way but not worth the asking price. At best it's a £200 toy.

More to the point, @Jarrod - are you using Gloss, or Gloss Acrylic? The Mr Color numbers for the colours are the same but there are options!

Hey guys! So I tried to order some Mr. Hobby Top Coat because ya know, it doesn't exist in stores around me and when trying to do so, I get an email a week later saying my card wasn't charged and the seller never provided and shipping info. Ugh.. Still haven't transformed my figure yet because I was waiting. Because I'm no expert and don't want to buy something that could potentially ruin my figure, can someone please point me in the direction of something that would work just as equally as Mr. Hobby that I could pick up in a Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot? I would like to get something soon for protective reasons. I appreciate any guidance/help/suggestions!

Thank you again to @BrutiKing for your amazing capabilities and for that awesome fix. Haven’t been able to play with my OP in the last few days but getting my hand on him and being able to make it even better than it already is is certainly cool.

Hey, around where are you from? (America?) I might be able to point to towards an online store for mr hobby stuff. As far as I’m concerned, they’re pretty much the best of the best, so I can’t really think of a replacement for them. Feel free to DM me if you’d like more help. Thanks!

Not cartoon accurate enough. The chest windows are smaller in the cartoon, the abs grill longer and those gray pieces on the side of the grills are smaller. From the hips down though, he's amazingly accurate!!!

Sorry for the delayed response, been out of the house for a few days, but here's what I did:

You don't need to, but it's a lot easier to work if you take the little folding parts off the side. Take this screw out. This will allow you to rotate the top part on the pin and slide it off. Then, just slide off the bottom part.

Until you're looking at this (this one has already been modded):

Just use a hobby knife, and trim either the blue line section, or take out the little tab stopper where the green box is. I just sliced off the tab stopper. You can check your work at any time, and just trim until you've reached the desired flushness.

    Reassemble, and done!

I'm using the lacquer. Whether it's gloss or not depends on the color, however, I generally use gloss colors unless the need specifically calls for flat or semigloss

If you're not in a rush wait for the reissue honestly. While you can work around the knee joints with a fix they'll most likely be corrected out of package in the reissue. As nice as he is he does feel like the factory did a rush job on him as they could have done a lot better on sprues and the bad applicatiion of the gray stripe. Its wispy thin and should probably have more of a protecting coat then it does.

Add me to the list, both of mine were non ratcheting out of the box. Thanks to the delay at AJ and hurricane Dorian disrupting the shipping for a few days, I had plenty of time to read up on issues before mine arrived, so I was well aware of how to handle them. The blue tabs were simply misaligned and would not enter the knee so I immediately disassembled them and got to glueing.

I used JB Weld Quick Steel(4-6 min set time 2 part epoxy, ridiculously strong)to glue the offending knee piece. Immediately after it set(10mins to be safe) I reassembled the knee and then shaved the tab to a more round nub on the entering side so that it would enter the knee as easily as possible.

I have zero fear of any issue now. Here's how nice the knees move now.

Otherwise he is flawless(save for a few knicks of one side of his grey stripe), transformation is frustrating but fun and yet it's still distinctly Optimus Prime's .
