My Prime has finally shipped! I can see for myself what all this hoopla is about!
You'll kneed to inspect it properly when it gets delivered...
Been busy with UNI and healing my thumb, all primed and ready to handle MP-44 tomorrow! Almost two weeks since he's arrived at my house, constantly checked the thread and re-watched YouTube video reviews on MP-44 to ease my impatience with the whole ordeal... hopefully it pays off, because my bank account for sure did.
In the mean-time, I killed some time working on this digi of MakeToys meteor and how I think Starscream 3.0 would roughly look like with the head that comes with MP-44. I wanted to do curved air-intakes, but there were no photos with low saturation or the right angles. Not sure how well this turned out, I think the hands could've been better, they're re-coloured MP-36 hands.
Excited to see what G1 releases follow after MP Hound... because man is Prime beautiful and that Starscream headsculpt is SO Starscream. Better not be 5 years until we get new seekers though.
Finallt fixed my prime. No more plastic scratch. Also polish the ss1 face
All good now
Wouah looks brand new & perfect. How do you manage that ? Magic !
Open the Starscream V3.0 thread right now. This is perfect looking
Is this airbrushed? Absolutely stunning work!
yep , ab
MIne's missing a Ratchet in the upper right knee.... and some chrome blemishes in the grill abs...
Would I be an idiot to repaint the entire in metallic colors ?
How long does takara usually take to make a re-issue When it comes to its MP’s? Pacifically The MP-44 I kinda want to hold off tell they Address this QC problems
anyway, both knees seem to work as intended so far (crosses fingers).
No paint blemishes, no ruined shoulder simbol.
Just two ugly sprue marks on the upper chest (top of the opening panels/windows)
What can i say?
For a toon nut like me (never read the comics and had very few toys) simply the embodiement of a childhood fictional hero.
I got home late last night but finally busted out Convoy. Had some Bourbon, but only had time to go few pages to step 32. I'll finish transforming tomorrow. But of note, Convoy's right knee can ratchet all the way, but his left stops for the deep knee so I'll have to glue that one.
Amazing engineering so far even though I'm not fan of this direction.
The seller is responsible for the arrival of the item. If it gets lost or damaged for whatever reason, it's their duty to make sure you get a replacement. You deserve another one. My local seller has a disclaimer on their website that they can't guarantee that the box will arrive totally mint. Mine had a dent but not an outrageous one. I bought an expensive figure from the same seller years ago and decided not to keep it. They gave me a full refund after returning it. It's a matter of how reasonable the situation is and in your case, I think it's unacceptable. As you said, it's only a miracle that the contents are intact, considering the damage on the box. The box isn't free. You paid for the design and material. That's why a mint box influences the resale value so much. But I understand that shipping it back and waiting for a new one is kind of a hassle. I hope that other guy's friend still has the box for you.
Not at all. It's your money.
I think he means, would YOU do it?
So far, one bad paint issue in a very prominent place (thigh):
Looks like silver paint. Is the thigh painted, should I attempt to remove the silver splotch?
Where did you get yours?
About 10 months. @oku already answered some pages back
I think I will wait for a second run to get a second copy.
My replacement Prime should be here tomorrow. I will spend the afternoon with my wife checking every part of it. I just hope there won’t be any flaws so I won’t have to exchange anything with my first flawed one. Then I will do the knee fix with all the preventive maintenance and let it cure for the night.
