Regarding the knees....I was just thinking...what if one were to simply trim the "locking" piece off of the blue ratchet. The "L" shaped bit that is supposed to slide into the white thigh but doesn't always quite make it? I don't have this in hand yet so that's maybe a ridiculous idea that won't work or it's maybe a drastic measure, but could be a possible solution? Maybe it would even be an improvement, letting me decide which knee ratchet I want bending first instead of having it dictated to me by a piece of plastic that then causes damage when it fails?

Really just musing take this post with a feather light touch...won't have MP44 in hand for at least another 48 hours.....

Are you trying to be funny cause I really can't tell...
I meant I did not damage it during transformation, the damage was already there.

Hmm, you're the second person to mention that the tab will not go into the channel at all. I wonder if that is the actual begining cause?

Does it look like it's too big? Or not lined up properly? Have you tried pushing it in with your finger while bending the knee? Any chance you could take a pic?

But yes, if you glued that part in, locking it as intended, you would lose the lower knee joint unless you can get that tab to enter the channel.

I really want to do this, but have them halfway through transformation.

A stop motion would be even sweeter, I feel like I’m brave enough to make one for Prime when he arrives.

If I’m correct in assuming he came from AJ, it might be worth opening him and just sliding out the plastic shell to check for missing parts or obvious damage besides the knees.

Won’t be able to get a return if you leave it too long.

Then again not sure if you plan to sell it either :)

I had the same trouble last night - lock the backpack first then push it down, that worked for me.

The figure that was shown off at the last few toy shows had the same bend.

Although I now subscribe to @Jarrod's theory that it's probably a result of how the nylon cures rather than how it was molded.
All figures I've seen so far have the exact same curve, which also suggest it's a curing issue and doesn't happen due to packaging and/or transformation.

Regardless, it seems like TT were aware of this during manufacturing and decided to let it slide.

I can confirm that not all figures have the same curve. On my S2 head the right antenna is roughly straight while the left has the curve. It’s definitely unintentional, and either a design or QC error.

It's both. Design-wise they made it curve to emulate some frames in the cartoon. QC-wise the softer plastic means a higher chance of it not hardening properly so it becomes asymmetrical. Intentional idea yielding unintended results in some cases.

I agree! There was an autocorrect typo in my previous post. I meant to say "it's probably a result of how the nylon cures rather than how it was molded".
Thanks for sharing that your antennas did not have the same curve :)

I don't think it was intentional because none of the included promo material features curved antennas. Not on the box, instructions or product design sheets.

It's my last day of vacation so I decided to take some pics of Prime. Loving him even more after playing around with him for a few hours.

So aside from the ratchet knee ratchets and some crooked ear antennas, mostly good to go? Just a few paint defects / battle damage?
