Mine arrives tomorrow. I won't be home to sign for it unfortunately due to work committments. With luck it'll go to the local post office before the end of the day and I can pick it up in the evening before they close. Else, it'll be a Wednesday afternoon pickup.

The question is do we disassemble the knee in attempt of prevention or wait until it's broken then "fix"? I'm rather handy so no issues with disassembling (don't let your springs go flying peeps :D ). The question is when is the ideal time to do so?

I will definitely attempt to figure out the process of how the knee mechanism works and if there is any "safe" ways to move it. Hopefully there will be more info on the issue available within the next 24hrs and we may have a discernible fix and process.

    TBA on this front.

Same. Really dont want to cancel, but also cant afford £300 on a defective product.

Other problem I have though is that I saved up for him by purchasing giftcards from @TFsExpress . So chances are I wouldn't get my money back, just store credit or something.

Chinese forums are saying the knees are giving in upon playing around with it a couple of times. :/

I mean I’d disassemble in case. Gives you a good view of the assembly and you’ll know what to do. But I’d say wait until you get definite information on what to do.

JC ... theres no way in hell , we should have to worry about fixing such items right out of the factory. I can see one of 2 things happening .
1: Takara steps up & takes responsibility by offering updated replacement ratchets for the knee assembly
    OR
    2 : A 3rd party creates a replacement knee mechanism

Cause in all honesty , how many times are you going to drop $300 + on the same figure ? A corrected 2nd run shouldn’t be an option for us .

If this knee problem is a real thing, it's simply unacceptable given the constant rise in price of MP figures. I'm still able to pick MP44 with the preorder discount but I'm not sure I want to face the risk of getting a defective copy. That's a gigantic bummer.

Knees on my copy are still good. Been bending them back and forth repeatedly and so far so good

I wholeheartedly agree that we shouldn't have to, especially at this price point.. However in both the cases you've mentioned owners are still required to take apart the knee and perform a manual fix.

Some people like me even enjoy tinkering and learning even if it's risky. Knowledge is power. If I am already familiar with the knee intricacies and mechanism(s) when one of your cases comes about then the repair is super easy for me.

At the same time I understand perfectly why others don't want to touch it whatsoever.

I wonder what makes your copy good and others bad.. But not worth touching if he's golden!!

@Agent 539 will have MP44 in a million pieces soon so It will be more evident on what fixes to do.

1st runs of anything always have a few bad eggs that slip through the net, hopefully, it isn't too widespread & better yet they can correct it for the reissue like Dinobots shoulders.

Also did TT just win an award of excellence via the 2019 Japan Toy Awards.. for MP44?
I can't region unlock the accompanying youtube video
but the logo from the awards is accompanying MP44 in the tweet

    Link: トランスフォーマー情報局 on Twitter

Maybe something to be front-paged by a mod if confirmed.

If so this another huge milestone alongside the Long Life Design award.
I wonder if this logo could possibly find itself on the box of an MP44 reissue and beyond.

Time to bring some positivity back into this thread!

Even with both knee joints busted, Prime can still hold any pose and look damn fine doing so!

I love how attaching the gun to his backpack makes him look like a soldier.

Yeah MP44 won the award leading up to Tokyo Toy Show or Wonderfest. Pretty sure it was front page news at the time.

That is all I need to know. If removing the ratchets until a solution is found like @BrutiKing thought, then I will do so!
