I'd believe it. Looking at the picture, it may also be just a simple off-center pivot. Maybe it's a combination of both! off center.png

Patiently waits for shipping confirmation from amazon.jp to drop with a crashing thud into my email inbox.... in the meantime I will prepare a new home in the detolf by moving MP-10 across the room to the misc prime display. Also gets polishing cloth ready to make it gleam with pride.

Yes.. yes...I see... that would explain why Optimus prime's transistors are so large.

Probably out of necessity due to the parts count. I'd imagine it's a decent sized box.

Oh no, I forgot to cancel my preorder to be extra good about my budget while grabbing Unicron (which I guess I don't have to worry about now :(  ) I guess I'll just have to play with my new toy next week, poor me...

Looks good but not good enough for me to drop that much money on him...

A + repaint on the other hand... (I don't need chrome thighs - silver will do. in fact follow MP-10's colour scheme but with more paint!) :)

Looks really nice, certainly puts MP-10 to shame, but I'm happy with my 3rd party doppleganger "Prime."

In that comparison shot with Ghostbustin' Prime, the MP-44 proportions are so much better it's not even funny.

I've probably said it before but I'd totally buy a sleep mode or a toy accurate repaint. As far as cost is concerned. Definitely overpriced but I'm taking a break from collecting for at least a year so I wanted to cap it off with something I really wanted cost be damned. I'm not a high volume collector, so it's easy for me to justify the cost when I purchase one to two figures a year.

I'm not sure if I like it or not, for the price no, but for cartoon accuracy it looks really good, I still think MP-10 is better but I'm always open for change. But that back pack though some third party companies have a better version the animated G1 Optimus well I do want to see this reviewed

It's hard to see with the face because of the resolution, as you note. I have to say, though, that at this price, I am going to be very unforgiving of even the most minor paint defects. The hit-and-miss paint on MPs has often been dismissed as "to be expected for mass-produced figures". Beyond a certain price-point, though, I don't think that excuse is good enough. So here's hoping they have really outdone themselves with MP-44 (I've had a lot of bad luck with paint :)  ).

Now that you've mentioned it, I can't un-see the curved antennae. That's unfortunate. I guess it must be down to how thin the plastic gets - I wonder if that's the same on all of them.

    Anyway, he does look beautiful.

As someone born in 83 I’ve never considered myself a Gen Xer or a millennial. I know there’s a word for me. But labels are like.... dumb. or whatever?

Growing up with zero technology. And studying email and typing my senior year in high school should account for something right? I’m special!!! Dammit !
