I ask that same question. I know some figures are not the licensed vehicle they were. So why not Dino?

 

A Roadbuster hopefully means Topspin or Leadfoot are on their way.

I hope we see Sentinel soon. I've been hoping to see a new voyager for a long time. I hope it comes with his shield, sword, and rust cannon.

If Sentinel Prime comes out so good, I guess I have no choice but to get SS DOTM Megs and SS DOTM Jetwing Prime.
I saw a review of SS JW Prime and It\'s not really bad.

Although I have a personal issue regarding Prime\'s truck design and awful location of front fender to the bot\'s side abs, the engineering is complicatedly good.
But I still have HFTD BB Prime, does it scale well in today\'s SS Voyagers?

Because Ferrari has a tight grip on its usage and "likeness." So even something "close" would set them off.

If you own a Ferrari, you can't do anything to it that changes the way it looks to the point that it messes with the identity of the Ferrari. Deadmau5 had a time with that one.

And, apparently Ferrari awards their usage license to only one toy company at a time.

 

I put all middle ground characters or guys with ties to neither faction er...in the middle of my display flanked by the bots on one side and cons on tbe other. So Sentinel, Lockdown, etc are in the middle.

Full disclosure: Mirage is on the bots side...but suspiciously close to the middle...  

 

I really just want Dino's robot design in Studio Series scale. A made up generic sports car is fine for me.

 

That's the problem MnemonicSyntax mentioned two posts ago. Even if Hasbro went the unlicensed Sideways not-R8 route, Ferrari will still try to claim copyright infringement because "red car = Ferrari likeness = lawyers!!!" They're just that sensitive about their image.

Don't y'all wonder sometimes, why Hasbro agreed with Bay to feature a Ferrari as a Transformer if they were fully aware of the obstacle course getting a toy (toys!) of him made would be?

What was there for them to gain, other than being snubbed of three potential toys to sell (Cyberverse, Deluxe, Human Alliance, perhaps even some redecoes along the way)?

 

Did this happen with the previous figures?

 

Do you think that the Dino figure remolded from ROTF Sideways that was released in Japan was only possible because of the difference in US and Japanese IP law? Maybe an alt mode significantly different enough might work out.

But I definitely have to agree with your point that it was an off decision in the first place. I feel like Bay pretty much had total control over that stuff (at least at the time) and Hasbro basically was left to do whatever they could.

 

You forgot The Fallen, Dino, Hot Rod and Hatchet(and maybe ROTF Sideswipe). Do you think they can complete all of that by the end of 2021?
