Does anyone order it from Lunapark store? Have you received it from them yet?

I love the eff out of this set. Cartoon accurate Slag, Snarl, and Swoop are great. Blue eyes on Grimlock (and Sludge) is my preference. I think it stems back from AM Grimlock. Everything is super tight BUT the swords cannot be held in any meaningful what because the thumbs are not strong enought to hold these giant chunky swords. Best to just leave them legged into the back.

they might. they might move on to somebody new after Volcanicus and Abominus and the Fembots are not a bad choice especially since a few of them are hard to find now and not get remade anytime soon. They also never did their own take on Predaking. I doubt they are satisfied with the PotP figure...

I really want them to do their own Liokaiser, swap out the Skylynx/Deathsaurus for Leozack and Jallguar that combine into a torso and give them Breast Warriors.

i think Studio Series Grimlock might have hurt sales on Volcanicus. i canceled my preorder once he was announced.

Technically the preorder window (at least as far as Takara Tomy is concerned) closed before SS Grimlock was announced, but I think the rumors were out by then. Preorders on third party retailer sites are already contracted orders with TT, so that's a bit different. But yeah, I think people were also expecting maybe more retooling for the price and the fact that it is a double-dip. The set is nice, and the metallic full paint certainly looks very cool, but QC is looser than I'd like--a few slightly warped parts and Grim's ratchets make a very nerve-rattling squeak that I'm worried about, plus his torso doesn't like to lock in robot mode--so yeah, missed opportunity.

PotP overall seems like a lot of missed opportunities. don’t own a lot of figures from that line. Glad Takara is fixing a few of those figures up though. I got Abominus on preorder.

Eeeeh. There's a distinct difference between what Studio is doing and this.

I bought 86 Grimlock, but I'm also a Combiner fan. And that's the niche this fits.

I’m not saying there isn’t a market for both. I’m just saying some might prefer then bigger newer Grimlock to a repaint of a combiner figure. Just think the timing might not have been great.

Timing is off but not completely as remaining SS86 Dinobots will slowly trickle out.

Son also wanted the new Volcanicus set despite already having the POTP release.

Well I caved and bought it. I love the Dinobots and I regret selling my POTP set. I really love the idea of a Dinobot combiner too.

I'll still get the SS86 Dinobots as they come out. I do like them being huge guys who tower over my smaller figures. I just didn't want to wait for who knows how long to get all five.

I couldn't justify the price of the set. I bought the original 5 for $110 CAD, and this Generations Selects version was $300CAD just for some added paint.

*Edit: I said screw it and just bought it from Robot Kingdom because it was slightly cheaper. Even with their overpriced shipping, the overall price was still a bit cheaper than buying with Canadian retailers. I really like the colors of the set and I think this version of Volcanicus would look nice in a display surrounded by the Studio Series 86 Dinobots.

Thumbs are actually pretty good if you actually peg them in... Which I didn't do at first.

The set looks incredible, but if you don't mind me asking, is all that silver paint or just shiny silver plastic? Because I'm contemplating getting this set, but that amount of paint would almost feel stressful to mess with.

It's mostly silver paint. There are things like some things like shoulder joints on Slag and Sludge or Swoop's that are unpainted for example.

No issues so far. Most of the parts base color is silver too.

Ah, okay. It's mostly the tabs being painted I worry about. It's just hard to tell in pictures than in person.
