I would also go as far to say that if you can hunt down DA-81, 70, and 64… you’d be able to rebound BP-GV Destroyer (other than his unique head sculpt).
the *only* strike against the new BP is I’m not convinced the old leg units from the older BPs (and the battle wagon) will work with it
There DGU-02, where you basically get SSSS.Gridman & one Dianaut. Unless you're
looking for OG Gridman.
For the new BigPowered, this is the official product page for it.
And you can go to youtube for the review of the previous releases, the upcoming one is 4th 'repaint' with improvements on the mold, and uses the Bullet Cores.
I have no plans to get the stand alone Gridman. I’m going full on with Battles Gridman!
Might as well just get the original destroyer at that point lol.
Aren't the leg connectors unchanged? They look the same to me in the promo images.
And it kinda works with the battle wagon too:
Outside of that though, the new gv does alot right. The extra height makes the price tag more justified to my monkey brain, it has double jointed knees now (they're ugly but I'll take it), it incorporates the visor gimmick from destroyer as well as the faceplate gimmick from the og gv, it's got friggin drill shoulders, and obviously the biggest thing is the bullet core compatibility.
I know the leg units are inverted, but you appear to be right as far as the pins are concerned. Guess guess you’d lose the extra knee/ankle articulation with the older set.
had me hopefully we’ll get an update to this set
As always, first, if you can't afford the hobby, it may not be for you.
But, if you can, then start by sharing what is attracting you to the line. Is it the big robots? Is it the inter-compatibility? Is it the little Dia-Naut figures?
I would also recommend going back through this thread, start at the beginning. The line has been going for a while now and that will help you learn about each set and the pros and cons. It also fills you in on how timing and diversity of releases occur.
Everyone is different. A lot of people love the interconnectivity. I like keeping the bigger sets standalone with “upgrade kits” like how they did all the mobile base sets. I use the trailers to create a base for all of the associated vehicles and accessories to inhabit.
For those interested, RK and BBTS both have listings for DA-87 through 89 up. Shipping prices are still out of whack from RK to the US, so I guess I'm going with BBTS (and patience) again.
DA-87,88,89 are up for preorder on BBTS!
/le sigh... I have $1100 in pre-orders going back to June with BBTS. Currently waiting on 2x DA-70s and 1x Grander Pod to show up any day now. I'm going to hold off on DA-88 cuz it appears I have time to weigh my options. May try TFSource just to see how quickly they can get it out.
Between TFSource and BBTS it’s been. Shot show waiting for release. I saw that TFSource got in one of the diacolone packs before BBTS… but if I’ve made their (rumored?) naughty list for canceling…. I don’t want to keep digging that hole deeper.
What is interesting was that TFSource didn’t/doesn’t require a deposit on Dragon/Ghoul head but BBTS did… (and was sold out by the time I got off the fence).
i’d be tempted to go back to Amazon.jp…. I’m just worried if I have something with QC issues it’d be a pain to replace (and shipping lately has been murdering any cost savings).
Diaclone Reboot DA-34 Waruder Raider Raptor Head (Dark Cathode Type) Exclusive
Doesn’t actually come with the waruder suit does it? Their promotional info for this set keeps messing me up (and sold me on getting the OG dark cathode set back in the day)…. But this looks like a new batch?
Diaclone D-87 Waruder Legion (Ripper/Dark Cathode Type) Exclusive
Do we think this is the standard ‘gun metal’ grey dark cathode has been, or an actual back to match warudos Gigantor?
I do feel that dark cathode ripper is to Dragon/Ghoul Head that solider type was to The first Gigantor
Was wondering how long it was going to take… now for Takara to officially add them to the main sight.
Did anyone ever pick up DA-63/68 (the core Versrisers)? What were general thoughts and opinions on them as stand alone compared to their Riser equipped versions? I picked up DA-57 recently, but haven’t cracked it open- but out of all the versrisers…. That was the only set I felt really integrated worth a darn into the triverse mechs as cores.
What do you mean by integrated? Do you mean color-wise? I have both, and like them. Granted the unit 2 (wheeled) version is my least favorite of the three mech types in general, but both 63 and 68 work well with marine type decos.
As does TF Source.
I’ll be going with TFSource and patience again, for the free shipping.
No, DA-34 doesn’t come with the suit. I bought one from BBTS just a couple of months ago thinking that it did based on that photo being the primary one in their listing. Still a great set, but I was disappointed to find it didn’t have the suit. I think the Dark Cathode Big Head set does include a suit.
This is probably just an incoming restock.
Hard to tell from their pics, but my guess is it will match Warudos Gigantor and Soldier Type.
