gosh… that makes me really want to pick up the military color variants…. I just don’t know if I’d enjoy these more than the late series maneuver suits (Delta/Gamma/Epsilon) or the new VERS core suits
Hmm… that’s tough to say. The maneuver suits are more versatile for sure. But I like how solid these guys feel. The only thing I think you can really compare them to is the original Power Suits (A thru F). Otherwise it’s a different thing I’d say.
Kinda cool that the robot head makes it look like the dragon head has eyes behind the cockpit glass. Also kinda creepy.
Wow they’re much more different in hand paint wise. Still bummer neither one has that OGGreen/grey the basic suits and rapto/bug head had
The lighting in that room is very poor so they might look darker than they really are. They definitely are darker than the grey on the og green and purple suits.
good lord that’s a lot of berserker drones in the back. I still wish the solider type II really went with more stuff. I’m also still blown away that the Solider and the Ripper have the same MSRP but crazy different part counts. (Though the soldier’s legs have a lot of pinned manufactured parts). What are your overall thoughts on the new pieces for Dragon/Ghoul head(s)? Found any interesting ways to use the extra parts with the rest of the swarm?
My new power suits shipped this morning and will be here Thursday or Friday. They're the only new Diaclone stuff I've gotten in what feels like ages.
Mine shipped out too! DHL says I’ll have them on Thursday so that probably means they’ll show up on Wednesday. Woohoo!
I haven’t had a lot of time to mess with the extra parts yet. I just got it last week and we have a 6 week old at home so I haven’t been able to find much time. I really have just transformed it to its three main modes to check them out over about 30 mins. I have to keep everything in cabinets with solid doors (wife’s rules) within our office and I will take some stuff out to display on my desk as long as it can be put back easily. The new taller robot mode is a little too big to fit in my cabinet so I plan on just keeping the extra parts in the mode in the attached photo as I like the base dinosaur and base robot mode as is.
Some of my items have started showing up in My Stack at TF Source, (DA-73s, Pod Granders, and Battles Gridman). I'll give it a bit for other 3 sets Jeremy said to expect to show up this month (other two Gridman sets and DA-74) before I ship it.
