Wished they could have slimed down those waist joints a bit. Getting them to fit in vintage Diaclone toys would be fantastic.

Yeah, I don't get why there's such big gaps between the hips and the legs, the arms are pulled in really tight to the body but the legs look like they're floating out there.

Likely clearance to compensate for 1) material properties and 2) potential increased range of motion in the hips (i.e. potentially greater lateral movement).

I make poseable figures in this scale often and while my figures have a much smaller visible gap i also have to compensate due to what's mentioned above to achieve this. There's no other reason i'd do this when designing Dianaut scale figures with the same level of articulation or greater.

Okay... That Powered Greater mecha mode is cool. I'm guessing just inflation.

Yeah I ended up pre-ordering at AMJ when it first went up, I think I got locked in around $346 shipped. Hopefully it goes down, but the shipping killed any kind of savings.

So wait hold up, Powered Greater isn't a Magnus type upgrade but rather a Godbomber type deal? Okay I can dig it but yeah that's a hefty price. Do dig the Power Loader esque mech mode though. Bet it would look pretty good opposite a raptor set.

My only gripe about that new Dianaut set is that we don't get a visored blue. Just a minor gripe since that blue looks rather nice.

Hey gang, I feel like I just won the Diaclone lottery! "How", you may ask?...

    1. I just received DA-14 Big Powered. My #1 absolute Diaclone grail.

    2. Got a really good deal on it from Mandarake, especially compared what it usually goes for.

    3. Listing stated "box damaged" - it was close to perfect. I think, to them, "box damaged" meant "tape cut".

    4. Toy is in perfect shape & the head reveal gimmick still works.

    AND

    5. It also came with 2 extra Dianauts & 2 motorcycles from the DA-15 add-on set!!! They weren't even listed in the contents or reflected in the price.

Labor Day was Diaclone Day for me, for sure!

Not that I don't agree that diaclone pricing is ridiculously high... I do..., but it is now and always has been par for the course. $50 for a powered suit? $200 fro Dia Battles and Battle Buffalo? $150 for Cosmo Battles (just the add on jet)? $300 for Battle Convoy? Maybe you find it a little cheaper from various sources, but this is what it is. Add on top of that the rise in material and tooling cost (I work in the toy industry and we have seen increases between 200-300%) due to both resource shortages and global pandemic issues, and costs are up. A lot of people are only just now getting into diaclone reboot solely because of battle convoy's extremely loose connection to Transformers Optimus Prime and are getting sticker shock for something that is not new. Not chastising or criticizing. I hate the pricing too. But it is what it is and it is not new for this toy line.

Man, I would LOVE for Hasbro to work out a deal with TT to bring Diaclone Reboot to the US. It’ll never happen, of course.

Yea. That would be great but you barely see Transformers Masterpieces in stores as it is already. And that’s the top tier of Transformers which is a household name at this point. And it’s just the movie ones these days if you’re lucky to see them. If they show up on Hasbro Pulse, it’s the Takara release with a slip cover over the box for some Hasbro logos and English text. It’s not going to reduce the price of these things. Diaclone doesn’t have the base outside of Japan where Hasbro could import it with out doing a lot of work to get people who aren’t into Diaclone already into it. Hasbro these days is playing it as safe possible by sticking to already existing IPs and pumping out more of those things.
