If anyone's still looking for a Battle Convoy at original price, BBTS has one more in stock
Lately I've noticed the Diaclone stuff hasn't dropped much form the initial preorder price.. Just for giggles I looked at the cost of pre-ordering two of them. Usually the shipping would barely go up. I used to do this all the time with another local collector and we split the shipping. Now it's not the case. It's a went up another 3400 yen. To ship two of them to the US would be 82,734 yen in total. Shipping is 7836 yen. So for it to make sense, the exchange rate would have to be ~115 yen to the dollar, to break even with a US seller that ships for free (tax not included in this or the AMJ total). I think within the last year, the closest it's been is 111 yen to the dollar.
When I got Convoy it came about 303.42. So it was cheaper than BBTS as I would have to pay sales tax, and came to about 26 dollars cheaper than TCP... Though TCP's point system means that it is slightly more than 20 dollars off with points (AJ also has a point system but it is essentially 1% and is only for in-stock purchases that ship through Amazon), so the savings is now down to 6 bucks... Hey at least I got Convoy fast and saved six bucks... WOOOO.
I was going to ask if the command buggy or whatever could be used this way. I love having that in the front as it reminds me of the old giant robot base! Anyone have any pictures of it configured that way?
Diaclone troops ready for action !
Well, I’ve preordered 80 and 81. Now I’ll just figure out if I’m going to sell some organs or just sell my body.
Sorry there was a four page post bomb between when I last logged in so apologies if anyone else made this observation but these are the first time these style suits have come with the original raid chamber style right? Wonder if it's a redesign as it would need to be larger?
No, the suit that goes in this raid cage is the smaller style, you can see its legs and such. Was released before in a red/blue colorway with a magazine before the maneuver suits started happening.
The silver smaller mechs is some magazine-exclusive previously, so now is another chance
and the yellow one is Maneuver Beta, release in DA-22 orange & DA-25 green previously. And we are all aware of secondary market prices
No redesign needed, both Suit-C (silver) & Maneuver-Beta (yellow) have 'integrate-mode' originally used for DiaBattles integration.
And now I noticed DA-81 only provide the smaller Raid-Chamber... Awesome color though haha
I don’t think that is maneuver beta. I think that’s the new mover suit that comes with DA-80.
@Omega23 - Yeah, that yellow one is a newer Vers. design, not a Powered Suit. Look at the feet.
And as others said, only 1 storage pod comes in the set for the Powered Suit F Type. (It is the same size as A-D. You are right that E and F did not come with one before, but they fit.)
The Vers. one has the car/riser parts instead.
For those not familiar, Updated with image of box for Kodansha Diaclone Combat Chronicle Powered System Project-1 Powered Suit F Type found on Hobby Spirit site:
(These can be crazy expensive online right now, and sold out quick when released. If you live in Japan or a major city with a Japanese language book seller, you may luck up and find one on the shelves as they were primarily sold to book stores, like the LEGO DK books in the US and European countries.)
Also can be seen on Transformerland... It only came with suit, Dia-Naut, and booklet.

There were 3 Kodansha "projects" including a new loader and scepter to be gear for the suit. I am expecting those two to be the next exclusives in new colors.... You can still get projects 2 and 3 from BBTS.
Diaclone Combat Chronicle Powered System Project-2 New Scepter
Diaclone Combat Chronicle Powered System Project-3 New Loader
Note that 2 and 3 are basically model kits like DA-12 and DA-13, before them... They do NOT come with Dia-Nauts.
Image from 1999.co.jp of all 3 projects loose...
A picture I took of the scepter and loader added to a Delta Type Suit...

My primary passion for Diaclone is the Powered Suits... LOL.
yes you are right, the cockpit design throws me off
Now I regret only ordering one T_T
I will say after look at DA-80/81 and DA-64 I’m a little miffed (but also pleased) that other than the unique helmet design… you can remit DA-80 to be a Destroyer variant.
I’m still very confused why they went with that super dark blue for DA-80. It’s *almost* black- but not quite… and nowhere near as blue as the “hero colors” and D-Calibur.
so is that I locked in an order at BBTS… I’m dreading the recolor announcement that will likely show up in 3 months.
I still feel a bit burned on Gigantor vs Dragon/Ghoul head.
sutprised they haven’t announced a recolor for DA-78 yet. Them swerving back to the original grey threw me off….
they’re making it very hard to stick to one set of colors…. The blac/red military/stealth colors was what finally made me cave and jump into this hobby- now I’m finding myself split all over the place.
that was my impression. Though I like the subtle callback to the older body style (it’s probably the yellow that really does it).
Was debating for a long time on getting the maneuver Beta
and the C-Powered suits.
I do wonder is the leg units from DA-80 will finally get them to issue a new Land Battlecruiser like they did with DA-19. Or perhaps give it to us in the form of the Dia (Verse) Train

Oh man it’s in a baggy inside a cardboard insert like the Battle Convoy trailer. I’m not a fan of that.
Honestly as someone who doesn't keep packaging, I have no issue with it. It's different, but with as few parts as it has why not.
