Yeah I don't like to do that either. I didn't realize what the release date was. I usually get things from Amiami, so I'll go that route, but wanted to share it for people that like AE.
It looks amazing and the price is certainly justified – but I can’t see myself paying it, especially not with the new MP’s rolling out around that time.
It's coming in May, with the glut of releases in the first quarter of the year, I doubt TT will release a TF MP in May.
Oh. When I see 1/60 giant robots, I tend to think of Perfect Grade Gunpla, which tend to be pretty tall.
Well, I just logged in to AE to order the Dai-Battles and found out I had two MP-21s waiting to ship that I forgot I even ordered.... on Nov. 3rd, 2014. So you're probably safe.
Man, I want this so bad, but the lack of chrome is really putting the brakes on my purchase. One of the things I love about the original, as well as a lot of the chogokin-style toys from the late 70's to early 80's is the cool vac metal and metallic paints that were used. For a new toy to push my nostalgia buttons, there's just gotta be at least some chrome! It sucks because I was really looking forward to this line.
So here's my dilemma. 99% of the time...I am a Transformers only kind of guy. However, I LOVE my MP King Exkizer...which commands insane prices in today's aftermarket. I don't think I need to have an MP Dia Battles...but what if he turns out to be another Exkizer? Anyone else feel this way? I have the same conundrum, but to a lesser degree, regarding the upcoming MP Zoids. I am almost certain I can live without MP Zoids...but this Dia Battles is a robot...made by Takara...and it transforms. Finally, it has that "Masterpiece" in the title. I think it might end up tagging me.
By any chance does anyone know where I can go on the interwebs to find good information on the original Dia Battles? Specifically, I'd love to know his bio within the diaclone mythology. Was he a primary character?
Last one...does anything think we'll get an official Stormbringer release, using this mold, in the Transformers line? Takara loves it some repaints...
"Character" wouldn't be accurate. They were piloted by people, so Dia Battles would be a character the same way, say, Dinozord was a character in power rangers. That said, there's lots of info on Maz's site about the figures: TF-1 Full listing of figures with catalog scans and such: Diaclone Some story details: Diaclone Toy Catalog Scans Translation: 1981: Finally, some bad guys! | TFL Blog
Am I wrong to want this figure repainted to reflect G2 Jhiaxus' scheme? And maybe get the needed new head sculpt?
