Actually, it looks like it’s probably a rivet and screw used to affix the command chair column in place. Just a guess, and I hope that it turns out to be something else that’s a cool feature. I was just thinking of that use for the elevator too, happy to see it deployed in that way. Wow, two amazing huge playset toys that combine into a bigger amazing playset toy. This may be the best robot toy ever.
Nice to finally see all the details at last. Shame they didn't put a cockpit in the head, I maintain that it was an obvious gimmick and somehow they missed that trick but never mind. Lots to enjoy here and like Dion it looks like most of it can be employed while separated. I'm curious how they think anyone is going to be able to fully use that lift once it's combined though.
In all seriousness, I can't think of a better toy. I think this is literally the best toy ever (combined). Definitely more expensive than I was expecting lol I think it will end up costing me roughly the same as Pants™, and for some reason I thought it would be cheaper. But I'm still fine with that, given how amazing this set is.
I think the product page is broken, I’ve tried for the past 10 minutes to actually get a good look at what this thing can do but none of the images are loading. The above observation that the external molded tab details on Cloud Arc (small shuttle) align with those in the Garuda mini-vehicle is a damned good catch!! I suspect that those who were calling for separate offerings of the mini-APV(?) may get their wish, possibly with a separate Cloud Arc as well (precedent: Cosmo Roller) Maybe alongside the Heliscout/Skylancer sub-release. I would have loved Cloud Across as-is from what we observed of the still images from the Toy Show debut. The marketing images last week was icing on the cake...the full reveal product detail page, though? Pure joy. I adore Ground Dion - it's marketing pushed me into Diaclone (finally) in March. If I had for whatever reason failed to do so then, Cloud Across would definitely have pulled me in. Now that we have the full impression of G-X with just DA-100 and DA-95, I'm starting to reflect on the Ground Dion add-ons in the full context as well. The added cannons and gun emplacements, the deck expansion, the Nova Cannon(?) Claw add-on...(and I foresee many comical implementations of the DA-97 claw!) But I think we're all still wondering what happens to the forward, topside, added cannons from DA-98...how will that component integrate with G-X once the deck expansion (DA-99) is installed? Does it have a secret installation location on Cloud Across that has been kept secret prior to the DA-100 reveal? And what kind of add-ons for the Cloud Across chassis are we going to get? The possiblities are endless!

I see it as the USS Flagg and Fortress Maximus all rolled up into one sweet package. Any 80s kid who was a fan of Transformers and GIJoe should be foaming at the mouth for a GRB. This is the toy we wanted and will finally have.

BBTS have 3x DA-95 in stock in case you still need one for DA-100 (now up for preorder for $500 at BBTS). If the JPY-USD exchange rate holds, it comes out to be: $559 via A.jp $545.57 via BBTS Although the price on A.jp came down ~100円 since it went up, even if it doesn't come down any further, ~$15 is worth it to me to get it 1-2 months earlier. A.jp it is.
This is AMAZING!!!! All the gimmicks, the light piping, the face sculpt, all of it looks so good, beyond what I could even hope for! I like that TT has designated Commanders with a stripe and it's really cool we get a female commander for Cloud Across! Just put in my preorder for one with BBTS. $50 down on $499 with $4 shipping is much preferable a price ($503). Plus I don't mind the wait, I mean hell, we have to wait until at least next February-March anyway, so what's another month or so. Once TCP has theirs listed, I'll put in my second preorder there.
I was just about to come post that BBTS has their pre-order up now. Yeah, I'm going with Amazon Japan. The price will most likely drop a bit after the initial pre-order hit, so I'm fine with it. I know the charge will come out of the blue in February on Amazon Japan but at least I don't have to front $50 now and then wait several months after release to get mine if I go BBTS. Add-ons and such are fine to me with BBTS but not for the main event.
