Sorry, just enjoying playing in the Pods. A full day-shift crew is now covered and the Dia-Nauts go about their daily duties.
Green. It’s the Cosmo Marine version. I didn’t adjust the image to match color, and green tends to shift a bit depending on lighting.
Depends on screen used to view it also. It showed up as clearly Cosmo Marines green on my phone. It's that dress meme from years ago...
What are you using for your backwall/ground? Cell phone or DSLR? (If the latter, what f-stop and ISO?) Lights: I'm seeing 2-point lighting? Or is it 3+? (Key, fill, back) what wattage? LED? Finally, you have the same Pod layout (pod, not interior) that I settled on as well. Do you have any compulsion to add 1 more Gantry?
Yeah, greens are an especially fussy hue. Years ago I had a client who wanted their website’s background to be a sage green. It was fine on all of my monitors, but hers desaturated it to the point that I had to adjust the color to be a bright emerald green before it looked “sage” on her screen. We decided to make the background brown instead. And then there’s also colorblindness as a possible factor with greens.
A long discontinued and almost completely tapped set of third-party cube tile bases called Iron Deck that were made by Wild Kidz, a Chinese company that went under. All the major third-party sites ran out of grey years ago. And, I just got a message last night that my last source, which I have been buying from for a while, cancelled my last order because their listing was wrong and they were out of grey sets... (Only orange and purple remain.) I updated my "wanted" thread a little earlier hoping someone is sitting on a grey set and not using it. Anyone, please help out if you have a spare grey set you no longer use/need. Cell phone - LG V60 ThinQ Dual Screen - I used 35mm back in the day, had a loan of a very expensive manual camera and had to load my own canisters, etc. I was high school yearbook and paper photographer, even won several state level awards, but eventually it killed the fun and I stopped for decades. I just took some pictures of my first Diaclone toys with my phone, because of a spark the toys gave and rediscovered the original joy of just getting the picture and not letting the equipment get in the way. I found the phone enabled me to just enjoy taking pictures again. (I had a simple digital camera a few years prior and I had messed around photographing some toys, but it was more of a "look at this toy" type thing, very basic. Nothing special.) I normally use a webcam light ring, (but mine is dead, have another coming hopefully tomorrow), I strictly use low-tech supplemental lighting, i.e. flashlights, fairy lights, and button-cell LEDs. I can use anywhere from 2 to 8 depending on the shot I'm trying to find and pull out. I have two of each set, used in generally 2 different Pod groups, but I have mixed and matched, occasionally. 4 Pods long is about the longest that I find enjoyable. Not only is opening and closing a pain, but that is as long as will store on any of my shelves. I also don't have the room to open up a longer one to play, really. Yeah, it is such a struggle for me when folks want a color comparison shot... 1) it is just next to impossible and 2) I don't do that type of "product" photography. I enjoy trying to make the toys have my own unique "feel", almost real and unclear scale. It's my own "take" as it were.
Dude, awesome pictures as usual. Where did ya get all those red dianauts? You remember specifics of which sets? I see some of the new Red V3 motor bike riders, and i know some came from the Dia-battles sets. Just trying to think where else? Any come with the power suits?
Thank you. I don't remember which figures came with which sets exactly off the top of my head, anymore, as I just sort mine by color in a tackle box. But, I think Dia-Battles, Alpha Plus, Red Lightning, Cosmo-Battles, DA-04-3, Kit Vol. 1, and Alpha Spartan, all had at least 1 partially red figure... You can fairly quickly check for many of them on Transformerland Diaclone Diaclone (2016)® Collector's Guide If you pick a set and open the link, you can generally cross reference all the sets that used that figure's mold in all its colors at the bottom of a listing... Just repeat for each of the various molds. (Note: The site appears to be falling behind again... ) Considering the price of additional checked bags and risks in the cargo hold with a suitcase being damaged or lost, wouldn't just shipping some of the loot to yourself be cheaper and safer? Might even beat you home... Before pandemic, health issues increasing, and losing my job, we were going to go to Japan as part of our 25th anniversary and that was my wife and my plan we had decided on for near the end of our stay...
Mine hit my proxy as well! I have 13 days intil I need to ship. Crossing fingers for Ground Dion to drop In that window.
Speaking of storage... this caught my eye. I know some of you have shared your tactical tackle boxes in the past, but this caught my eye: Multi Builders Multi-Purpose Case
Buy the ones in garish colors and spray paint them into the proper color after color matching the grey ones?
So the Twitter chatter was right, some places in Japan are getting Grand Dion early but only by a few days. https://twitter.com/NonanHD/status/1640572646508359680?t=isa8itezlB6Sm6ERlx9pyQ&s=19
I just asked Volks and they just said "April, no date yet" Volks had plenty of Vajira, one V-Max and TMs. And one Legio Core. Sigh. Also
Yikes. Should probably top up my gift card whilst the exchange rate is... not terrible. Was hoping for a bit better, but it still looks like it'll be cheaper than ordering from UK shops anyway
Yeah, I've still got about 27k to pay off for mine and the exchange rate has been all over the place, but mostly down.
