So one thing I utterly hate (for a certain value of 'hate' ) with the level of detailing on these figures is that even when you blow up pictures to two-three times the size of the real things they still look amazingly good. When you don't own a particular toy yet that gives a wrong impression of the size.
So, my Vajra's scheduled for shipping around april 15 along with the tactical carrier, the expansion set and the ttmall set with the computers and all the rest of the accessories. FINALLY.
So I did a thing today. Not exactly proud of myself for it, but... So I found out last night that BBTS got a restock of Varjas. I had enough money left from bills and whatnot that I knew I could afford to buy it and still have some cash to hold me till next pay. But I convinced myself I should wait till tax refund comes in and see if its still there. Then at work this morning I went ahead and bought a Varja. Derp. Not exactly happy with myself, but I am worried I may not get another chance.
this self deprecating is dumb. Vajra is about sold out in Japan and pretty much sold out stateside too. it'll start shooting up in price here very shortly. buying diaclone at retail is something you should be happy about. you made a good decision.
The reason I am not happy is because I used money I wanted to save. It was an impulse buy. I just hope it won't bite me in the arse. That's all.
Speaking of Vajras, i got mine in today, finally, from BBTS. Beautiful figure, of course. I have only just started removing parts and pieces, for now, but looks like it has insane potential. Next are the TC accessory packs. They should show up any day now, hopefully tomorrow actually. That would be nice,
Wonder if TCP will get the black Tactical Carriers in before Amazon.co.jp sends me my Dions... It will be interesting how long before I get around to opening a Carrier if Dion gets here first? LOL.
Diaclone PV music coming at us. https://twitter.com/diaclone_log/status/1638374943787196417?s=46&t=T_lZ_CfhFRI2GZF3IuJX6A
Trigger and gun barrel…. I can’t wait to see the parts that come with the top half and what the final gun will look like!
If it's any balm to the soul, at least Diaclone doesn't depreciate, unlike pretty much everything else at the moment (besides houses). So, outside of taxes and potentially shipping... you'll get about what you paid, minimum.
I had a similar thought when I saw the crane arm, but it's too small. Hopefully you're right here because it'd be rad to turn RB into a loading dock. The Carrier pods sure resemble shipping containers to me. Trigger? I was thinking it was a quick-release for the crane. I think the Japanese text on the product page for the upgrade kit mentions a quick release.
I am also wondering what Heman means about a trigger. Indeed, it is a mechanism that the crane uses to attach to DA-95's large elevator/gun post.
This is the best Diaclone joke that I've cloud across. I wish I could give you a thumbs up for each BP and all six Dianaut packs. Re: Powered Suits, I only have two, and a Dartloader. I don't have a Diabattles, or any Big Powered, and that's where most of the integration is. Given the current line, I'm hungrier for Maneuver Suits, because the raid chambers stack, but the Tactical Carriers and Expansion sets have mounting brackets for the old-style raid chambers, so Powered Suits aren't completely obsolete. I went with Top Ramen. I worked for a small pops-owned used bookstore, appraising books. If the book was mint, the standing order was to look it up on Amazon and beat the price by $1. This because the bookstore's profits had been devoured by Amazon. I don't think it's still open. Near the end, the owner was sleeping on the floor in his bookstore. Gave up his home before his bookstore. I'd be surprised if importers of Diaclone aren't mostly operating on thin margins. But this is anecdotal. Can we be brothers? Cause your mom is obviously superior to my mother-unit. WA state has no income tax, and funds everything via sales-tax. You read that right. Sounds great until you realize that you livin next to some megayacht-drivin-ass Bezos-lookin mofos who be laughin it up like "haha I can keep *all* of the monies and be your landlord" while yo punk-ass payin sideways for chicken. If you move to Portland, there's no sales tax. They do the opposite thing in Oregon, income-tax only. Guessing you'd still have to pay import taxes though, but no state sales-tax. I'm still not cool enough to move to Portland, so I don't know yet; working on it though.
The hinged connection piece that comes with the first generation Power Suits that plugs into the back of the chamber has exactly the same distance between the two pegs as the holes on the TC Carrier, so you can use it to more securely mount two old-style Raid Chambers pointing backwards at the rear end of a Carrier: Attach brackets to Raid Chambers. Plug Raid Chambers + brackets into rearmost two holes, opening side pointing to the back of the Carrier. Plug one hinged connection piece into both Raid Chambers at once. Also looks good if the Fort Chamber just in front sits at a 90 degree angle instead of inline with the chassis.
That's a lot of TC option sets. I thought about going crazy with those and making a weird cultish church with the couches as church pews, but instead of a cross, it's a cross-shaped Walderbot. I think I need human Walder-sympathizers or else why the heck would Diaclone have an intelligence service that it denies having? (per official TT website, somewhere.) I mean it'd be pretty hard to be a convincing spy, fitting in with aquatic aliens only slightly larger than your own heart that are walking around in human-sized robot suits... which is kind of the opposite of the premise for Macross, now that I'm thinking about it.
Still too expensive. Considering i spent years buying pizza on a daily base from a nearby bakery, i was enough on good terms with the owner to ask him for the unsold bread he would've been forced to throw away. Which means free bread. Olive oil is kinda cheap here (mostly because you can find olive trees pretty much everywhere in the region) and salt is also cheap. You can't spend less than that And now i might be forced to do the same because i have like €470 worth of diaclone stuff to pay plus €500 of rent in the following 3 weeks, with a monthly income of €920. Yey me.
For some reason this snapped me back to that William Gibson story about the shipping container with the radioactive laundered money in it. Anyone wanna guess how many $100 dollar bills (the currency of "Real Bad Shit" as Gibson has it in his narrative) one can jam into a Dion? Now that I've said it, I'm *almost* certain *someone* here will try to find out.
Some questions remain to be answered: - Dion box only, or box + actual product? - Hollowed-out Dion, or actual products with innards? - 1/60 scale $100 dollars bills, or full-size? Radioactive or not is a question that needs no asking, as I think those fancy container scanners also detect radiation...
