To be honest, TT rarely provides insights to releases prior to official announcements, unless there is a slip in a press briefing. Sky Across is a rare advance notice and I think that was essential. I think bringing up the Tactical Mover Argo Versaulter statement before the official announcement was a slip up during one such press event. I will say that there is NO guarantee that any toy will have any specific "color theme" or variant. Also, there aren't true "color themes". Names generally refer to the specific part buildouts in the lore, like weapons and thrusters, etc., not the colors, but they can hint at them more often than not. Even the Cosmo Marines sometimes vary, though they have had the most consistency color-wise, with just a few outliers.
Quick note for everyone buying Grand Dion, while it has been delayed of course Takara have furnished Amazon with the final dimensions and crucially the final weight of the package. "Product Dimensions: 25 x 52 x 24 cm; 3.18 Kg" With this the shipping cost has now been dramatically reduced, mine has gone from £63 to £17! So it's about £46 lighter now and that also reduces the tax by about £9 to boot.
I get it. We all have wish lists, but most will never be fulfilled. I'm not saying it will never happen, just unlikely... It also depends on how well the molds have held up as that figures into cost. If another variant should get made, I expect it to be after Cloud Across.
Interesting, mine only went down about 1000 yen for a set of 2. If I wasn't past the cancellation date, it would be cheaper for me to buy two and have them sent separately. To ship a set of two to the US is 23901 yen, but to ship 1, it's 3022 yen each.
That's a much smaller package than I was expecting. I figured it'd be at least the same as a Transformers titan class figure. Oh well, I guess that makes it easier to ship.
Well, my Vajras are now on a truck out for delivery with DHL. (Left Japan yesterday morning early and in my state distribution center USoA by noon-ish today... DHL is crazy fast!) May be tonight, may be tomorrow. (I'm very rural, so sometimes it doesn't get here before they call it a night, the first outing.)
Received my Vajra today from Amazon JP. I haven't messed too much with it yet, however even the base form is absolutely striking.
Well, 2/3s a titan. Pretty certain the bridge will slide out and Cloud Across will slide in to provide the arms, shoulders and head. Really hoping CA runs more around $200-250 as a result.
I just got my Varja too. I'm pumped to open. It does seem like the clam shell is sliding around in the box. Anyone else have the same. Can't open yet b/c my 4 year old would kill me if I did!
Got the notification that Vajra will be delivered today, wooo. Very excited, especially since this past month has been horrible.
- "RUN!!!" The first of the WarudaLegion <Vajra> arrive on the Earth and attack a small town. Some of the local forces of Diaclone try to stem the damage while others caught unaware make their escape. Various Diaclone sets used with 1:60 Tomica diecast vehicles in 1:64 G-Fans shop and XCarToys dioramas.
Not crazy about using the cellphone for this, buut no proper camera, so this shot is about 1/10 what I had in mind. Regardless... The Calibur Machines roll out!
Got dropped after 7pm local time (go DHL!) I was almost certain it’d get pushed to tomorrow. more to come after fiddling and phone charging. But Vajra’s Hanger Raider I’d almost Dia Battles Big lol ————————- okay, last full pic. But I really love the evolution we’re seeing where. Like the transition from Fling/Sting ‘basic’ suits to the evol Mega Grappler and Legio(n) suit. I just really dig this visual ‘bulking up’ going from Solider to Ripper, then Vajra just feels like it’s in a league of his own. ————- So the ‘dragon’ (snek?) mode is interesting and more flexible than I expected….. but I’m thinking it would need to be twice as long to wrap around Ground Dion. That said probably can constrict just about anything else. I am surprised the wyvern/ogre modes weren’t in the official instructions…. ————————— Perhaps the newest variant of the swarm is too effective! Having dismantled one of its fellow Ripppers the Vajra decided to take on something…. A little bigger!
