New video of Argo up on twitter https://twitter.com/Diaclone_log/status/1614095082822459395?s=20&t=3vyBL2xvDVCOdt7C8OGiqw
Did i get a good deal? What do you guys think? So, one of my grails concerning my very huge and nearly complete Diaclone collection were the Waruder figure packs that were exclusives and released towards the start of the line. I was fortunate to start collecting towards the beginning of the line. I saw a pic on here of these cool little articulated soldiers that fit into robots, cockpits, vehicles, and the clincher the motorbikes, via one of Maz's pictures. I knew nothing of the lines release, or what it was about, but seeing those Dianauts on bikes i was in. Luckily at this point only the few Diabattles were released, and a few powersuits, all fairly easy to get, boy were they expensive i remember. In a week i had everything ordered and on its way, btw i have never looked back since then, and i am grateful for that, as my collection is huge and nearly complete. Anyway, i had ordered all i could find, except for the clear powersuits, the Diabattles exclusive variant head, and the exclusive Waruderoid figure packs. Eventually i did get the clear suits, never wanted the head variant, but the Waruder fig packs kept eluding me. What sucked too is i REALLY wanted them, and had they been normal availability i would have bought about 6 of them honestly. Fast forward 2 to 3 years later and i got everything released as it came, and tons of army building where appropriate. Only thing i missed out on was DA-45, as i stupidly thought it was just a recolor, and i said i got enough Diabattles already, but didnt realize it included the exclusive V2 RED motorbike, omg i want one so bad, would prob pay $40 bucks just for that red bike, and of course still no Waruder fig packs for me. The price for them also just kept creeping up and up, and how could i justify paying $170 bucks for 9 little dudes. Well, by a stroke of fortune, i think?, i came across 2 sets available. They were in 1 listing, and they were loose. It was for 18 of them, all perfect, but loose, which i have no problem with. The total was $170, and a few bucks shipping, so like $176, if i recall, total. First off i am very happy to have them finally. I cant wait to have them crawling like ants on Grand Dion. Anyway, it came out to about $88 bucks per pack, once broke down. I think i got a really good deal? What did they originally go for per set? Does anyone remember, or know? Is seems like i scored on these correct?
It’s like the scene in Aliens where they wake up from hypersleep. Very cool! Argoversaulter video is out too:
USD88 per set loose for the Waruder troop pack isn’t great value (they turn up regularly on Mandarake for JPY8k Misb) but seems like ur post isn’t really about that anyway. If you really want to flex your collection just feel free to post pics … but some of us we’ve all got pretty sizeable collections of our own so it will take something amazing to impress the group here. This thread here isn’t really about competition re: the size of collections anyway.
- "Leave it to the Waruders to ruin a Friday night..." Some Dia-Nauts' downtime was interrupted by a small random attack from a Legiocore; but, it was nothing a Diaguardion couldn't handle with a little backup. More fun with various Diaclone sets used with 1:60 Tomica diecast vehicles in 1:64 G-Fans shop dioramas.
Are Hawk and Argo getting standalone releases without the orbithopper/voyager parts like Tread and Gamma?
We don’t know yet. Maybe, maybe not. Considering that the previous Versaulters had the standalone version issued first, it seems like they may be changing things up with these two latest entries. I’m speculating that the Gamma and Tread Versaulters were released the way they were because the Tactical Mover line was new, was on a limited budget, and had to recoup the cost of tooling for the core frame. Now that the line is proven (TT said Versaulter sales have been very strong), this second year of releases is probably being budgeted differently and instead of standalone versions we may see recolors with some alternate parts. It will be fun to find out!
Keita Amemiya is a pretty prolific character designer and director. If you like tokusatsu, you've probably like something he's worked on.
Anybody have any idea the size of the box Ground Dion is coming in? I'm gonna need more room I think...
