Argoversaulter seems great overall, i love the gimmicks they’ve included. I think the flippers look a bit rubbish hanging out the back of the sub tho, hopefully there’s another way to fold it up so it fills in a bit nicer. Likewise im not really a fan of them as extra “sled” feet for the robot either. I guess you can stick them on the arms as claw weapons, but i wonder how the balance will be without them?
Thank you! For some reason, it didn't come up when searching for "Diaclone" or "ダイアクロン"... Crazy that they don't even have the Twitter feed updated with the other images yet... Probably an early entry into Amazon.co.jp.
Just sharing images for those that have the Amazon app setup for another country; they sometimes have trouble forcing browser opening... Adding 2 more... I actually like the claws as "flippers"... Those triton spears are really cool. The periscope is a nice touch. This is a great departure from the prior Versaulter frames, just by changing the loadouts. I'm not sure I would have gone blue as I prefer yellow for sea gear, but then not very stealthy. But, a repaint is possible... My prior Taurus underwater build: "Bradley C. Sugg on Instagram: "- "Approaching the Waruder splashdown coordinates. No sign of any movement under the surface, so far..." "Keep comms and your eyes open, Unit 02." (Sorry for multiple edits... The full caption loads every time I try to post an Instagram link in TFW2005, until I delete parts of it due to edit.) These specialty mission loadouts are a great nod back to all the various environment loadout model kits from back in the day... Vintage Diaclone Thread

Don't think anyone fielded this yet so I'm happy to throw in my recollection. I'm almost positive that they all have tape on both sides, and then it's just the larger releases that have the three strips of tape per side. DA-15 has the hang-cell top on it though... so I would assume it's on the left and right sides for the top. If you're planning to open it I suppose you could probably reassure yourself by how hard that top is to open. They're normally very difficult if never done before. Also worst case it's just dianauts and bikes... as long as there's no visible damage (they're very resilient) you're gold. Good luck!
I always try to order extras if I can but they do set limits per order. My extras on the Tactical Carriers have already been claimed. I currently have extras for DA-65, 91, and 1 for a big powered. Can’t remember if it’s for 80 or 14/17/33. I can always help you/anyone else get sheets that they want. I do almost monthly shipments from Japan so turn around is fairly quick.
On a totally different note, i wanted to see what people thought about something that i just observed. When the Hard diaclone came out, i just said to myself, nice more good stuff to add to my collection. To me, i made no distinction between "regular" diaclone and hard diaclone. It was all Diaclone/Waruders to me, and for the most part still is. Where it has started changing for me however, is due to my recent receiving of my 4 Tactical movers. I had the other Versaulter releases, and nothing bothered me. The Gammas were bigger DA 27s, and it worked in my mind. However, after putting my Tactical movers together, and filling them with the Gammas, i decided to set up Battle Buffalo in truck mode and with 6 raid chambers filled with Da 27s. Putting the Battle Buffalo equipped with 6 full raid chambers, next to 1 tactical mover with 2 trailers and Gammas, was when i realized something wasnt right. The scale difference is HUGE when compared. They just dont look right . I feel the Battle Buffalo should be, at least concerning the cab size, the size of the Tactical mover, and the Movers the smaller Buffalo size. In my mind Battle Buffalo is a Command Unit, with its Taurus bubble head giving the Commander a full veiw of the field of battle. When rolling on the field Battle Buffalo should be the one bringing in huge trailers full of Gamma Versaulters, and the Tactical movers rolling up after with Da 27s as back ups. It just totally bothered me, hence my stupid ranting. that "regular" transportation trucks that are a made en masse, are huge in comparison to an epic fighting machine that is Battle Buffalo. If you have a BB, and a Tactical mover, in truck modes put them side by side with their appropriate trailers/chambers, and tell me that looks right. Now, i get it, thats why its Hard diaclone, and then there is Regular release. I am fine with that, but i think it should still all scale the same. Its like the CEO of a fortune 500 company sharing an office with 10 people on the 1st floor, meanwhile a mail clerk has the top floor penthouse office overlooking Central Park. I can picture 5 trucks and trailers plowing onto the battlefield, 4 tactical movers with Gammas, and the Battle Buffalo with DA 27s leading the charge. The BB stops, releases its 6 DA 27s, to then be told, dont worry boss, we got this, as the Gammas are unloaded and stepping over the DA 27s.
Well, I guess I can kind of see your point, but with the Cab Machine also being a shuttle craft, it doesn't seem that odd to me. I also think that the Buffalo is an older piece of equipment and Earth is really just ramping up with the latest conflict. (Just put the vintage Buffalo next to the last versions and it is even smaller. Over time escalation...) Takara-Tomy Diaclone Reboot To be honest, the vehicle builds of most of the TriVers were even more oversized...
I can still help with the ExHobby stuff Anyone interested is always welcome to PM me for details! Clearly, we need a larger version of Battle Buffalo that’s compatible with the tactical movers. Problem solved Seriously though, that’s a good observation on the differences. I’m also starting to notice similar things with scale. Even GRB looks like it will be hard to mix in well with the tactical lineup. I’m hoping the new submersible will go with it though as I’m pretty sure official lore mentioned Grand Dion can also go on water. Also, it kind of seems silly to have a power suit out on a mission when the movers are also single pilot machines and so much more robust. Don’t get me wrong- I love the powered suits, but might wind up essentially replacing them with the movers. I never had enough maneuvers to fully equip BB though. But yeah…seem like an upscaled BB would be an awesome solution
Heresy! I often put my leader in the Gridsuit and have them lead the charge... And, there will always be Powered Suits in my fights. A small guy can slip in and do a lot of damage when everyone else is bringing mega-mecha. Also, a lot of my skirmishes never even have bigger meca used. (I would have to recount, but I'm sure than I have over 100 Powered Suits alone, not even counting Maneuver Suits. So... I am biased.) Someone on Twitter pointed out they do seem to rise when the doors are opened, so possibly... https://twitter.com/akebono_enoking/status/1613299246014562306?t=cLvJt8kogzQeXzkHxXcllQ&s=19
I assumed Versaulters are a step back from Tri-TFs. While Tri-TFs were blatantly out of place and with a single pilot like power suits, Versaulters reduce the scale to provide more complex, transforming power suits. I think it's cool to have a power suit used as a core, ready to fight to the death if Versaulter fails.
I wonder if we’ll get a remold of Dia-guardian? it seems like most of the molds have some sort of alternate release planned. The more I play with it, the more I feel like certain aspects of it would be great for a 1.5 style Convoy. It would need a lot of remolding and new parts, but the size and way the legs work are a great base for convoy(it even has Convoy’s leg vents) especially if they could make it work with the trailer from the tactical carrier
Thanks Omega23, my DA18 is exactly like you describe, tape on the left and right for the top, but for some reason my DA15 doesn't have those. Haha looking through the closed auctions I found 2 sellers with great feedback who said something along the lines of "Also, as shown in the image, it looks like it has been opened due to the nature of the box, but it is an unopened item." and "The top is not taped, but I don't remember opening it after purchase." Also strange is that I saw one or two new/unopened auctions where some kind of pamphlet (advertising a raffle of some sorts?) is visible from the window but not in my copy. I guess it's not the end of the world but it sure was surprising when I started delving further into this.
So... found out yesterday that the VerseCaliber version of Big Powered has compatibility with the Pod Grander. So definitely gonna have to try and go for that version now in addition to an original V-Max for that base building ecosystem.
I probably should spoiler the quotes lol…. But how I see the Tactical Movers (and Trucks) next to traditional Diaclone forces is a bit multifaceted: On one hand, I see the tactical truck closer in-spirit to DA-19 Land Battle Cruiser and their about the same bulk, keep in mind the Fort Chambers (tactical) can also be used as forward bases/camps (not unlike modern day shipping containers. I also see the tactical Movers (Versaulters) as large artilatry/support frames. Especially their ‘walker/mech’ mode or Chariot’s tank mode. Also keep in mind that they’re so big, if you wanted to safely patrol/sweep complex/interior… they’re not going to fit, this Power/maneuver Suit squad. It’s also why I didn’t army build the tactical movers and stopped at two gamma (though massing a bunch of chariots is very tempting.) ———————————- Example: my waruder extermination squad [per the lore Gamma + Buffalo when they were released]. Would be one tactical carrier, probably with trailer. One chamber for computers/chairs/medical; one with two frames (no core), and the last one being an Aerial load-outs. Two gamma-chariots in escort, and a fully loaded Buffalo w/6 maneuver gamma ———————————- Regarding scale for Argo: I feel it should be Big Powered in size a conning tower/periscope the size of a dianaut seems weird. Also curious how it’s going to balance with those massive shoulders
The official product page for Argo is up: アルゴヴァーサルター<ボイジャーユニット>|プロダクトディティール|タクティカルムーバー|ダイアクロン オフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー -------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding scale, here's the thing to keep in mind: everything in the main Diaclone line and Tactical Mover is still the same overall 1:60 scale. All of it. If it were at a different scale then the size of the pilots would change. Yes, we have trucks that are a huge scale that might seem odd, but they're that size for a reason. With the Tactical Carriers, the thing that makes them "feel off" is that they look like a normal-sized truck, but they're actually giant machines. Why do they need to be so big? Because the Versaulter frames are large and this is a vehicle designed to transport them. Why is the cab larger than the cockpit of a Dia-Battles fighter? Because it's designed to be in proportion with the massive frame and container, plus it's a roomy two-seater shuttlecraft whereas the Dia-Battles cockpit is more compact. Keep in mind that we have massive machines in real life as well. If these were toys, one might think that the CAT 797 is a larger-scaled toy than the SUV or pickup, but it's just an incredibly huge machine. I've said this before and this seems like a good time to reiterate: one of the things that I love most about the Diaclone line is that it has a consistent overall scale. It's all at 1:60 and that allows us to recognize how massive some of these machines would be in real life. It also allows us to put all the different mechs and machines into perspective. Now, why are the Vesaulter mechs larger than Powered Suits? The're the next generation, made specifically for battle against larger Waruda mecha than were previously. The initial Powered Suits were mainly used to support the operation of large machines, but then their versatility and mobility were re-evaluated for specialized use in battle (source: Powered Suit page on official Diaclone website). With the Waruda introducing larger suits like the Legio Core and the Evolise Grappler-Form the smaller Diaclone mechs needed to be increased in size and better reinforced for heavy battle. So Vers technology was combine with the Powered Suit concept and we have the Versaulters. When you look at a Tactical Carrier, recognize that those wheels are nearly six feet tall. These are massive trucks because they're built to carry a Fort Chamber which is just over 13 feet wide and its walls need to be solid enough to carry (and protect) a 20-foot tall heavy-duty battle mech and its weaponry. Yeah, it feels off at first glance. But when you think about it, these would be some truly awesome machines in real life! And if they're built to fight alien mecha that can use "Time Holes" and have blade weapons that utilize dimensional transfer technology (source: official WarudaLegion <Ripper>, WarudaLegion <Vajra> pages) why should a massive transport truck break your suspension of disbelief? As for the Argo Versaulter looking like it should be larger, it's designed with some parts that resemble a full-sized submarine, but it's a mini-sub crewed by a single Dianaut. The conning tower may be designed to resemble one on a full-sized sub, but that's only aesthetic. The areas that look like windows are likely sensor arrays, much like the ones on the Bullet Core of a Gamma-VA or Tread-VA unit. The periscope feeds image data to the Argo-VA's Bullet Core console rather than being a manned periscope in that portion of the craft. We know that a Versaulter frame doesn't have any internal space for a crew to move through.
