Good point. Hopefully, not a drone. I don't like unmanned units. That's one of my reasons for being less fond of some of the later vintage Diaclone, like Construction Car Robo and the Scramble City designs, (other than the whole scale being ignored for most their "modern" vehicles thing).
- "I really hope the rest of those parts came in today..." Dia-Naut checks in at a forward delivery station for his late shipment.
My current speculation is that the wings are a wing pack for the bot and an add-on for the larger Dia-Guard 01 craft from the DA-93 set. The leg extensions for the combined bot are add-ons for the Dia-Guard 02 and 03 Bullet Core fliers, which will give them wings and cannons. With this expansion set the three Dia-Guard units will have a more "complete" flier mode and the combined form will also have a more complete form than the default. As a future set they'll offer DA-93 plus these expansion parts in a different colorway, minus the Cosmo Roller. That would be pretty cool!!
Basically, DA-93 is the core combined mecha. And, I'm guessing, this includes what should be DA-97 that will be an upgrade add on set.
~I seem to have missed the announcement for DA96. Is this going to be important to get to go with DA95?
DA-96 is a standalone Dia-Fighter. One already comes with 95 so this would be an extra. The only difference is the canopy color.
I like the small extras for Grand, although I wish they came with it at the price. I want to see the Air Dion already...
The Dia-Fighter does come with Ground Dion, as does a Cosmo Roller. Unless you mean you wish it came with two of each?
DA-93 = dia-guardian + cosmo roller DA-95 = grand dion + cosmo roller + dia-fighter DA-96 = dia-fighter So basically you "need" to buy DA-93 as well as DA-95 to get the 2 necessary rollers. But you don't need to buy DA-96, as grand dion already comes with a single dia-fighter, and can only fit a single one, so you're all good there.
Yeah I ended up buying them all too Even though I didn't need the second dia-fighter, it is super cool - I love the transformation, and it'll be nice the have a blue cockpit version lol
Maybe but we don't usually see open cockpits. That seems pretty likely and a cool idea, they wouldn't fit in their respective bays on Grand Dion of course which just makes it more likely that these are for Cloud Across. So the completed robot base can house all of these machines and launch them to form the powered up Dia Guardion.
Hey all, this is a long shot, I know... Does anyone here have a DA-65 that may have broken, and would be willing to sell for parts? My copy has an arm that decided to self-destruct (the entire post connecting to the elbow sheared off). I am really bummed, as there is no way I can afford a full figure to replace it. If anyone has multiple copies, or has one they are looking to part out, please hit me up in my private messages. Thanks so much -Rob A
Thanks for this - I just opened mine and it was really easy to do thanks to this post! By the way I feel it’s worth mentioning that I probably wouldn’t have even noticed the “defect” if not for people pointing it out. Edit: First impressions below: So I was honestly not very excited for this set. My preference is naturally geared towards the more “realistic” looking (colored & proportioned) entries and I’ve been spoiled by the tactical mover series… I wasn’t even going to open this one up but the news of said “defect” led me to check it out. And I’m really glad I did. It’s different than a lot of the other sets for me, which I enjoy because they’re awesome machines that look like they can defend humanity against all sorts of threats. This little guy is just fun. He’s ridiculous and stumpy - but it’s like the designers (and the figure itself) don’t realize or admit it (lol). There’s a charm to this entry that had me smiling in a more childish way than I care to admit. It feels classic and like they took the essence of what Diaclone used to be in terms of playability and put it in a very affordable and compact package. I really didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I am. And FYI for anyone having trouble getting the chest canopies to plug in together - make sure the gray neck piece is fully upright and the arm ports are plugged into it all the way before pressing the b… chest canopies together.
