Got my DA-92 today. - Box was double taped like @puma mentioned - The feet are tight enough for now. I don't own DA-79 anymore, but I think it was pretty similar in terms of tolerances. - The screws in the feet move with the joint. - Haven't seen anyone else mention this and I don't own DA-85 so I'm not sure if this is just a DA-92 issue (or maybe I just got a lemon), but the ratchets in the super mode shoulders feel a little loose? They're strong enough to hold poses so they're good enough, but I feel like there's a bit too much wiggle between the ratchet clicks. Kinda reminds me of DA-80's shoulders. - I don't have any issues in terms of missing parts, scratches etc. Some very small paint imperfections that are par for the course and more than acceptable. - Not a DA-92 issue, but I don't like how the super mode head just rests on top of the chest. Oh and the shield should've been bigger. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this set, especially for the price (relatively speaking of course). Still not sure how I feel about the feet. The plan was to open them up as soon as I got this guy in hand, but they're tight enough for now.
I can't find the post... Didn't someone share what TT said the final height of GRB would be? Not just Ground Dion, but full GRB.
Hmm... I don't think they've mentioned the full height yet. There was that recent radio (podcast?) interview that gave a bit of new info, but it didn't include the total height (unless I'm missing something).
I remember seeing a tweet about someone trying to estimate the height using ground dion as the bottom half and the og GRB as the top half. Forgot what the estimate was though.
Just some guesstimates, based on OG GRB proportion Ground Dion leg-mode is 45cm, so the height to head probably +30cm more, ~75cm. again. just some guess We should have got some more news around this time, but I guess there is still tomorrow.
I believe that the ending result will be shorter because Cloud Across will form only the upper torso, head and finally the arms and those don't add to the height of the robot mode. The ending result will be probably very comparable to Titans Return Fortress Maximus. Interesting Ground Dion ends exactly at the same heigh where the mid torso of Fort Max ends.
Here's the one I did a few weeks ago. The Reboot chest will probably be taller proportionally then the original though.
Yeah, the "Cloud Across" portion in that graphic looks a little too large. It's close but it probably needs to scale back about 10-15%. He'll still most likely come in around 23-23.5 inches tall but I think 24 inches may be pushing it once reality hits.
I think that the Grand Dion bridge will move upward and connect to the control room of the Cloud Across and in its place there will be the connection piece between the two fortresses. Anyway all the indication points toward a size comparable to T30 Metroplex and TR Fort Max.
This might be blasphemous but is anyone interested in buying just the Shadow themed Powered Greater armor from DA-92? I was only interested in the Powered Convoy mold. I also have a Cosmo-Type Dia-Battles for sale. PM if interested!
Yeah, i think struggle right now, is... how/where exactly does Cloud Across lock into Ground Dion. If the bridge ends up 'filling in the bottom' of the chest cavity... and say those nubs where the radar dishes end up inside the chest, or forming part of the 'lower ribs'. Then he'll probably be right around the 24" mark. If Cloud Across ends up connecting directly on top (and the command shuttle is more like the 'diaphragm' (diatram?! I'll show myself out) then he may be closer to 25-26".
Oh, if only I know you before buying the entire set. I really only just want the Shadow Armor, oh well. lol
Thank you everyone, I had remembered our prior discussions... For some reason, I was thinking they said it somewhere recently, but I may have dreamed that or have read a mistranslation of an interview or something. LOL My raw guess before was also in the 24 to 26" range... That would put it on par or just a smidge taller than TF Titans Metroplex and Fort Max (which I have staring at me, right now). (I would be shocked if the Diaclone team at TT didn't make sure it was taller than the TT version of Metroplex once fully loaded, even if by a smidge. I also wouldn't put it past them to make the "battleship" add on into boots to make him even taller, just to beat out HasLab Unicron at 27-28", including stand.) I was rearranging and boxing up some collectables in totes and I figured now was a good time to try to determine space to leave available, since I was getting two to keep both modes in play; though we are talking about probably 6 months or more before both halves are in hand. I also am trying to decide if my "photo booth" needs to be taller...
From the video released we could see that it slides back and forwards but didn't look like it could move upwards as well. I guess the grand Dion bridge will be either removed or covered up which is a shame but it does look really awkward with the (admittedly old) chest dropped on it. I would like it to be a part of the final design but I just can't picture how it could work without looking out of place.
Glad we’re back on Ground Dion. I just got in some of those sports newspapers from Japan with that “ad” in it. That thing is a poster! My best corg boy with the ad opened up.
I’m pretty sure the ground dion bridge will be removed, and the Cloud Across will slide in, in its place. The bridge seems to slide in on a rail/groove connection (as opposed to lifting straight up from the top). That rail/groove connection would be too good not to use to securely combine the two pieces of GRB. And having the top sit further in the Ground Dion would also add stability.
