Ya, I was just wanted to see them next to each other in the same lighting or the silver using the beige treads.
As I've said, I struggle to show colors in my setup due to my "style", but I did my best... I threw some UV light on the midground, hopping to have these two stand out more...
thanks for the pics. Both look good, but it’s hard not to prefer the standard release’s colors. Really too bad we can’t get the extra treads for it too. oh well, I’ll end up with all of them at some point I guess. Just getting one now since the powered convoy set comes so soon. So chariot it is, I want the full experience.
All good and accurate points! Looks like the official English is “Ground”. Personally, I thought it was “Grand-Dion” until I checked this for you guys lol. One interesting thing to add is that by them calling it “Ground” in English, they are doing another throwback to retro stuff. Japanese kana pronunciation for English words has actually evolved - Nowadays you wouldn’t see this (グランド) as “Ground”, but back in the 70s-80s, it wasn’t uncommon. I don’t know for sure if this is intentional by TT, but it sure could be.
Here you go, I hope these help you see what you’re looking for. It should be noted that what Purple Heart described as the “silver” one isn’t actually silver. It’s more of a slightly blue grey and looks very good in person. They’re both excellent. If you’re thinking of only getting one type, go for the Chariot Unit as it comes with everything the standard model does, plus those beefy treads. If you can though, get at least one of each!
Awesome man, thanks! I’m sure I’ll end up with all of them, was just was planning it out since the third convoy set was releasing so soon. I think you confirmed my decision for me, getting chariot first. I need those treads.
started working on the Waruders today. Just wanted to free them from plastic prisons and get them on the shelf. I’ll make them prettier later. Lol.
sorry for the kitchen pics… but holy heck… I’ve never gotten an Amazon.JP package this thrashed before…. This is almost US AMAZON/Walmart bad…. Just…. Fyi for those they may be deciding to EMS vs DHL etc ———————— Well the package looks fine… and damn… if the color mystery doesn’t continue with the package art (that’s Treader straddling the corner)
My Amazon Japan box came today and lookes *exactly* like that, and my Chariot box was also still unharmed. Weird, same day, same package condition.
TakaraTomy won’t be reissuing Battle Convoy V-Shadow, so therefore they don’t like money. TakaraTomy doesn’t like money, therefore they’re not driven by corporate greed. You’ve just debunked half of TFW’s criticism of TakaraTomy.
Not liking money was the only of the two options given that we could pick. In the whole line, as far as we know, they have only reissued the exact same sets once. In 2018, DA-23 : Waruder Suit "Flinger" and DA-24 : Waruder Suit "Stang" were reissued almost immediately due to the crazy numbers of each suit fans were buying to make huge and creative gestalt beasts. One could potentially argue DA-11 : Dia-Battles V2 Alpha Plus was almost a reissue of DA-01 : Dia-Battles V2, but they did make some changes to the colors and addressed some structural integrity problems identified with that first toy. Those are the only times since the first set dropped of anything like a reissue has occurred.
I have a theory... What if Takara looks at which models sell better and then makes more to sell on the aftermarket for a higher price using fake accounts?
If that was the case, there would have been more DA-65 showing up. But, almost no websites had more to relist later. The number of next day regrets and flippers more than can account for what shows up in the aftermarket.
Perhaps this is "Ground" Dion, the upper torso is "Space/Sky" Dion, and the combined form is "Grand" Dion.
I think the non-reissue policy helps to drive sales… by limiting the quantity it forces a lot of collectors to double or triple dip from the start and mop up the remaining stocks in the initial few months…so they are essentially selling the reissue quantities up front. You see instances of people who only want one buying 3 instead to “keep 2 as investments”. Instead of reissues they do re-molds and re-colours to maximise their investments in molds. The collectors are happy in that their collection generally increase in value. This may change in the future of course but I think TTM will stick to this strategy for the foreseeable future.
one of the more logical explanation why TakTom doesn't do Diaclone straight reissue. Instead of doing what Hasbro is doing (push order to retailers, let retailers clear the stock), this seems 'better'. But it does feed the scalpers to a certain extent, due to price point...
