I'm one among the guys who felt duped by Hasbro on getting Siege Shockwave.
Coz for a long time we don't have a definitive SW for CHUGs.
But here comes Siege SW... comes with plastic accessories for a Leader Class price point.
I have no choice, need to have him. Hasbro could've release him under voyager box.
But no. Hasbro being clever moved SW to Leader class.

At the end of the day...
I owned a voyager SW that was sold in a leader class price point.

There's still a part of me telling that previous LCs under CW and TR line was more worth it than WFC's LCs.
Ultra Magnus & Galaxy Convoy is somewhat a different and special case.
Probably due to their "upgraded robots forms from having inner bots".
I guess I was spoiled by Leader Evolution gimmick by TR Optimus & Rodimus that's why Siege UM and Galaxy Convoy is somewhat "forgivable" in my list.

I find it odd that Takara is getting a lighter colored Astrotrain, while WE are getting the darker colored version this go'round.

I say Darker because of all the New York Comic Con video footage and photos I've seen he's a much darker g1 toon colored version in them compared to the promotional stock photos that have been posted.

The only problem with this figure for me is the scuff marks.  Why is it only on the legs?  It looks weird seeing only that part when it is tranformed into shuttle mode.  I would get it if I can find it at a lower price point like I did for Shockwave.

Burnt ash/dirt/grime on shuttle. seems legit.

Train Engines from back in the day were also covered in Soot at the end of every use.

So, both Hasbro and Takara's are lighter grey than the dark grey originally shown?

No, Hasbro 100% couldn’t have released him as a Voyager as he has a gun mode, & despite it not looking real close up from a distance or in the dark it’s easily confused. It’s the same reason Han Solo’s blaster is in fruity colours if you want to buy that now too.
    C9C519FF-30B7-468E-9A74-2119D472F8C1.jpeg

Even the ‘06 Classics Megatron with his multicoloured mode couldn’t be released today unless it was much brighter, Hasbro has confirmed as much.

It’s also the reason Shockwave’s blaster mode isn’t advertised ANYWHERE by Hasbro, not even as an Easter egg or in trade magazines. Nothing. Not even an upside down submarine. In fact the only way we knew Shockwave had this mode before release is because Japan (who doesn’t have the same laws) showed it in a toy magazine but even then, still as an upside down ship.

And, I’m telling you, 100% even if you ‘possibly’ got him through in some states in America, by some miracle, there’s no way other territories would allow that to be released (especially the UK, where all handguns are prohibited) We’re lucky Hasbro managed to disguise him so well.

I can understand your frustration but ultimately it wasn’t a choice between Leader or Voyager Shockwave, but Leader or no Shockwave.

Dude they were never going to get away selling shockwave as a voyager without his extra armor add ons. He is literally a gun turned upside down and it is not the same as sixshot. Sixshot had 5 other modes and his gun mode already didn’t look like a gun but Shockwave is gun upside down. They knew it and knew they weren’t going to be able to get away with it. They released shockwave the only way they could to give you the most faithful shockwave made. Just let it go.

It's either Shockwave or no Shockwave. Fair compromise.

Sometimes Hasbro is that kid that's worried about their permanent record or having their name on the chalkboard with _two_ checkmarks next to it.

Thanks for the Shockwave replies guys.
Seriously I felt better reading your replies.
Made me confident about my SW purchase.
Hence, "Leader Class or no SW". :lol

    So to sum it up:
    JAPAN: Gun Mode
    USA: Submarine/Ship Mode
    :lol

with how over reactive the fandom is in such things i don’t blame them

Takara also marketed them as submarine and ship...

Pretty sure it's just a case of lighting. Why would Takara go against the brand unification thing for a single figure?

It's a great SW with the "enhanced" armaments. Heck, if he was the scale of MP SW, he would be more awesomesauce! Takara went OT with all the "details", light piping and poseability (and no electronics:cool: ).

I don’t care what shade of grey the plastic is as long as it matches the gray paint. Doesn’t look like it is matching here?

Something i learned in tr and potp is to have patience
Whenever i saw that stuff i got earlier for retail was on sale, i was dissapointed, if i waited i could've gotten the stuff cheaper and maybe i wouldn't feel so ripped off
Thats why in siege i waited on stuff, when ever the deluxes came out i waited on them and only got 2, a week later i got siege prime, hound, and cog for $40 on hts
You have to be smart, you have to do your research
I always go to the coupon section in this site, they always post good sales
You also have to look at the figures that comes in each case
When wave 1 of the siege leaders came out i waited on the leaders, a month later the case offerings from wave 2 were leaked, i saw that shockwave was repack so i waited on him and the waiting payed off on him, in august i saw him at walmart for $25
I knew he was going to shelfwarm, no one is gonna pay $50 for a voyager with extra accessories, now hes at every target i go to

    SPAAAAAAAAACE CHOO-CHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Looking pretty good!! Though for a Siege figure he has some very Earth vehicle styled alt modes. Maybe he’s a segue into Earthrise?
