Malaysian online retailer XL-Shop has not only listed these in stock, but also gave us our very first look of the packaging of some of these figures. Also seen here are the Robo-Q Bumblebee and Optimus Prime figures.
So.. basically they are almost similar to the Hasbro release, except for the ROTF Japanese Sticker and Instructions sheet in nihon-go?!
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...figures-released-japan-including-robo-qs.html Very nice pics!!! I think we had not seen the Robo-Q in package before. I'm so looking forward to my BB. It's already in the mail At first sight I thought Takara Megs was carrying better paint applications than the Hasbro one, but no, it's the same. I'll wait for the Premium.
Thanks SO much for posting these!!!! Breakaway is obviously the darker version, but what about sideways? It bums me out that Takara either A: doesn't want to make new packaging for this or B: is not allowed to since it's a property that Hasbro seems to have different rules for
i found the difference!!!!! prime has a tiny dif color change in the chest inbetween the windows theirs is grey ours is red
oh crap i see it too unless there are more differences i am sticking with mine with the price i paid.
Well it's much more for brand recognition than anything else. This toyline is based on a movie that will be out worldwide, unlike a particular TV series airing in a certain region. So it would make better sense to have the packaging be universal.
Would be interesting to see the Takara and Hasbro leader Primes side by side but I'm thinking the differences are negligible. I really want a Takara premium version again with the nice chrome like with the first movie, that I would buy no question
...wow. So they're basically Hasbro figures with a Takara sticker slapped on, and aside from a change in color tone...they're exactly the same thing? Hah. Talk about getting hosed. I'd have thought Takara would've at least given Prime his movie accurate coloring and missing paint apps. Or chrome at least. I'm...stunned. Absolutely stunned.
The bits that flip up next to the smokestacks is painted silver and on the Hasbro version they are painted red.
