Well its been 2 weeks since i returned my TFSource special and no refund. All emails are also being ignored. Time to open a Paypal dispute. Maybe i should contact the BBB too

 

I see people often mentioning contacting the BBB as a threat, am I missing something? I know what the BBB is but don't understand why people bother with them.

Its essentially a pre-internet version of Yelp, except only negative complaints and if they get enough on one business they'll "investigate" and write up their findings. And unlike Yelp and other online review services, they can't be bought with ads and don't remove bad reviews. It has its place, but their influence is waning.

 

Yes, that was my take too, they used to be somewhat relevant but in have fallen into irrelevance. Having a bad review on a system nobody looks at is not going to hurt anyone. Hopefully TFS get's you sorted out though, man!

 

Wow within a hour of filing my Paypal claim (sending them copies of emails i had sent to TFSource over the past 2 weeks as well as my return tracking number) i got a refund. Thus ends my business now and forever with TFSource

 

Better Business Bureau - A non-binding, 'independent' group focused on market/business trust.

They were effectively a rating of businesses for customers and businesses were incentivitized to ensure they don't have a 'bad' rating with the BBB (as another mentioned... think pre-historic Yelp). But unlike the web, they also try to act as an arbitrartor where they reach out to businesses on behalf of customers, give the company a chance to respond/correct the issue, and if they don't, log the negative incident in their ratings of the business.

 

As far as residential general contractors (my line of work) go the BBB is still pretty relevant. Even have to pay them a fee so that we can be an accredited business and the customer feels more comfortable about dealing with us.

For something like a transformer / online toy dealer not so much.

 

I'm still very angry over this, but I've decided to keep the TFSource Exhaust. There's no chance I'll get another of these guys at close to this price and, while it's not the original, this will be a piece of Transformers history.

Still not at all happy though. It will be a long time till TFSource gets my business again.

Pretty much. I moved hundreds of dollars in preorders to other retailers. Good on you, tfsource.

 

Same here i canceled about $400 worth of preorders. And finally got my refund for my Exhaust

 

Tfsource used to be so awesome. What happened? Did they just stop giving a shit?

Even their mint boxes are less mint and their bulletproof packaging is less bulletproof.

 

my apoly packaging from TFSource was pretty stellar. Large box, bubble wrapped item, correct paper space filler, etc

 

The sad thing is, this change didn't affect the possibility of the PM lawyers chasing them at all. The product still infringes, and they still shipped it out. They would have been better off sending them out with packing slips that said "Random item 1" and then just hoped no one noticed. All this talk was more likely to get them noticed.

But as I said over and over, the whole PM thing was really about causing a stink to keep 90% of them out of the country (or at least away from major US retailers) so they can say they made an effort. TFsource could have sent out their stock unmodified and nothing would have happened (just like nothing is happening now).

 

One of my final Tfsource purchases was two MP Coronation Starscreams and there was only room for a single layer of bubble wrap between the Starscreams and the shipping box. No cardboard sleeves like they used to use. One hit and those mint boxes would have been ruined. And considering how many packages arrive here all banged up, I was very lucky that didn't happen.

 

Probably got bought already, not too bad of a price for the 2. They always pop up together every so often.
