Is masterpiece Megatron worth it? I am not the biggest fan of his robot mode, but his alt mode looks sick. For those of you who have him is he a good figure. I am currently looking for him and am offering my shadow command leader megatron for him. So am I better of just keeping shadow command megs?
    thanks guys!

    He is worth it!

When I tried to convince ,my mom if I could buy it, she said no. Until I took her to the store and showed her that the gun mode was too big to be a real gun. And now I have 2.

Finding someone who'll do a straight trade seems kind of unlikely.

But SC Megatron does seem to be fetching a lot of money these days. Can you just sell it?

As for MP Megatron.......yes.........but sort of no. 4.5 years later it's still about the most complex TF ever made, but it is delicate, and transforming it can be kind of nerveracking at times.

The Alt mode also doesn't look right w/o the MP5 Upgrade kit, imo.

Wait a year or so. 2.0 may be better.

Even if it is, i think 1.0 will hold it's value if sold on. Although i might suspect it's more than a year off?

HA Barricade is also fetching good prices these days.

Can't comment on Blackout. Haven't looked recently.

IMO MP Megs is an atrocious figure. Flimsy, insanely delicate and with a terrible face/head scuplt and scrawny legs. Plus it's nigh on impossible to pose his cannon arm without it drooping down. Oh, and cosmic fucking rust.

I'd wait for either MP Megatron v2.0 (not a sure thing that TakTom is making this but they are considering it given the release of MP-10 New Prime) or iGear's PP02 Horror Monarch (would be much more in scale with the other smaller MP releases like Grimlock and the Seekers/Coneheads and the alt mode would actually fit in your hand like a normal-sized gun instead of being ridiculously oversized like MP-05 is).

^ Great choices. I love that MP setup in my office:

Prices here in HK are still decent (MP Megatron, Tak MP Skywarp, all under $100 USD, G1 Takara Starscream $120, MP Thundercracker is nowhere to be found). Unfortunately it would become less decent after they're shipped to NA.

Totally opposite of what I thought. MP Megatron in bot mode was totally awesome! But in alt-mode too big. Hoping for a more scaled version of him.

I would completely recommend it, but you must grab the add-on kit to complete me completely recommending it.

Neat display! I may have to break down and grab the G1 figures of the big 5 (Prime, Megatron, and the 3 Seekers) at the very least someday.

If you want him displayed in gun mode, get the add-on set from Just-it-Toys to complete that mode if want it to be more G1 accurate but there's not much of a use for it if you're going to display it in robot mode.

he's a 50/50 for me, like someone else said, he's flimsy, fiddly, and the tarnishing feet, oooooohhhhhhhhhh the tarnishing feet... I'm really hoping for 2.0 to get made, and that he doesn't hve the same problems the big guy has.. Though, he is still an impressive figure when placed next to MP01/04, they just look really neat together.

He's an okay figure. By far the worst Masterpiece though, as he's just too skinny and his legs can't support his weight well (same goes for his arm and his cannon). I wouldn't pay more than $100 or $120 and that's only if you REALLY want him.

great figure, came with some loose screws out of the package on the shoulders, after tightening them, he holds his cannon up better, but not perfect, but i've never had issues with him falling over except when i hit the display cabinet really hard, and he's not as fragile as people seem to think, mine's been transformed over a hundred times, and fallen six feet, nothing broken, the feet, just coat with future floor polish after cleaning them off.

out of the mps released, i think he's sturdier than the seekers weak wing joints, and rodimus's qc nightmare
