Got to open him up today, very impressive! The feet don't bother me, he stands well. The sculpt is beautiful. He is a great figure

LOL. I never bought PMOP. I own Legends Super Ginrai. I'm saying that fans would be upset if Hasbro later released Legends Super Ginrai in the west because the reaction would be: "Why didn't Hasbro just do that to begin with?"

TJust opened mine. I really don't mind the feet in person or atleast in this pose. I don't like how the trailer pieces don't fold down flat against the back of his forearms. Has anyone painted his hips white yet? I'm thinking about stripping the red off his hands.

I don't think it's just super Ginrai himself that is getting all the hype. But the fact that there is a god bomber/ God Ginrai set. If it was just super Ginrai and no god bomber, I think some ppl would be happy with Hasbro pmop. And god bomber wasn't announced until some time later after pmop hit the market.

The FoC Combaticons are still valid by your reasoning...the Japanese versions were very similar to the SDCC versions.

How about all those collectors who bought Combiner Wars Scattershot?

Hasbro is gonna do what's best for Hasbro...fan input or not.

Fans like that tend to get upset about everything Hasbro decides to do with this line. It's like Deluxe Groove. Hasbro wasn't going to make one but Takara did and fans didn't like how it was only in Japan and that Hasbro wasn't releasing him, but then Hasbro did decide to release him. But of course those same fans were mad instead because Groove was popular and sold out and that was also Hasbro's fault.

To be fair, some of these decisions are easy to make for anyone who is a fan and interacts with fans and people. They definitely mismanaged the combiner teams in ways they didn't have to at all. It was bizarre and stupid.

Except that's exactly what the Generations line is geared toward; fans of the original 1980s cartoon who don't want to spend outlandish amounts of money on Masterpiece or 3rd Party toys. Plus there hasn't been a true "Scramble City" style combiner, let alone a line, since 2012 with FoC Bruticus and 'Wrecker Ruination'. And I'm sure you and I both know how poor in quality those guys are compared to their updates.

Except that's not entirely true. The generations line was a evolution on universe 2.0 and classics, neither of which were slavish to g1. I can point out countless examples in these three lines where the designs don't line up with g1, ironhide and ratchet not being vans, Optimus using the wfc and foc designs, bumblebee and cliffjumper being muscle cars, megatron being a tank, etc etc. there was a time when generations was about updates not mini masterpieces

Ginrai finally arrived in the mail for me.

Heels are great on mine. No looseness or flopping at all.

This whole thread just makes me want a proper Masterpiece Ginrai all that much more. This looks fun & stuff, but I really want those lean, heroic cartoon proportions to come alive in a way that will look great next to Star Sabre.

I think it'll come eventually. He ranked high in the Masterpiece poll that was won by Star Saber. I can't wait, I expect greatness.

I would only be upset if Takara would release the exact PMOP mold that Hasbro released, but with a better paintjob. Because that's what I wanted them to do in the first place. I prefer the PMOP mold over the Ginrai mold. I only wanted more paint and better colors.

I can't be the only one who thinks Ginrai looks a lot cleaner than PMOP. I wish I could spare the funds to get him and Godbomber, but everything is going towards a desktop.

I'm hoping we do get a better painted rerelease of PMOP someday, even if its not the traditional red/blue/etc.. I do like the design, but the overall deco (and the shades of colour used) doesn't appeal to me.

Point the shoulder cannons straight up as if they were smoke stacks. That's how they should be and it looks a lot better than facing forward.
