Thanks to Kapow Toys I received my Takara Legends Highbrow today, I thought people might like a few comparisons and updates given some of the issues the Hasbro figure had. Apologies for the phone shots.

    So, Helicopter mode:

It's plainer than the Hasbro release, losing the red stripes along the body, silver cockpit paint apps and Autobot symbol of the Hasbro release, so for me it loses a little pop.

Robot mode - still a handsome devil! Nice gunmetal grey on the feet, and I don't know how I feel about the expanded grey on the chest section, but overall still a very nice toy. Some of the touches I really like are the blue fists and elbow joints to break up those huge grey arms, though your mileage may vary here.

His head still sits a bit high on his shoulders, but is much stiffer than his floppy US counterpart. Xort is also stiffer and has some nice paint apps on his face, but could be tighter on his hips. There's no pin for this joint so maybe some furniture polish can stiffen up any looser examples. The US head also sits better on this toy. I actually prefer the US headsculpt, which oddly is closer to the UK comic version than the toy, so will probably swap them for display purposes.

    Now, comparison shots:

Oddly, the TT Xort fits better on the US figures shoulders I've just noticed, so very beneficial swap all round.

Takara Highbrow isn't a bad looking figure. But the Hasbro version looks much, much better IMO.

Yeah, I can't see much argument for going TT on this figure over Hasbro. I prefer the Hasbro head sculpt and the other differences are so minor there's not a lot else in it. One thing I will say is that thanks to the packaging TT 'Brow's rotors aren't bent :)
