At the very least, I think Optimus Primal's was done by Yuki Ohshima, and a few of the T30-original toys kept their Phil Jimenez art.

That's true. I had forgotten some we're the same as the Generations versions.

When you realize Shaoshao Li (and apparently Sue Faireborn) are supposed to be Targetmasters:

Hey, wild question, we can choose to just ignore stuff like human girls becoming Targetmasters and stick with the US lore of "oh, the Targetmasters are smaller robots that can turn into guns for the Transformers," right?

EDIT: Okay, so the US lore had humanoid aliens in mech suits become guns and the Japanese lore had smaller robots turning into guns. Yeah, disregard the question entirely. In hindsight, it was pretty dumb for me to ask...

I mean, they're your toys. Do with them as you please. Though note that US G1 lore has the Targetmasters as Nebulans. So it's still flesh-people in mechsuits turning into guns.

I prefer to think of them as just robots. Same with headmasters. I don't like the US lore for them at all.

No, this is now the only canon, anyone caught choosing to stick with prior Targetmaster lore will be rounded up by specially trained Takara Tomy death squads (their guns and body armour have better paint apps and feature new moulding compared to the regular Hasbro death squads) to undergo "re-education".

So, does anyone who has Legends Hot Rod have the Rodimus Titanmaster from Chaos on Velocitron? I'd love to see how that looks.

Whats hilarious is that you have that the other way around. In Hasbro, not just the US lore, Targetmasters are Nebulonians /humans. The same with Powermasters and Headmasters. In Takara's fiction, only the powermasters(and very few Headmasters) are human. The main Headmasters and Targetmasters where all actual Cybertronians from the planet Master. Robot Targetmasters didn't appear in Hasbro fiction until the Actionmasters toyline. Maybe you should get your lore straight before you start saying it's weird, because you defended the very concept your opposing.

For the record though, I prefer all of the -masters to be Cybertronian myself.

... Is that girl even wearing underwear?

    Oh, Sakamoto.

There's no denying it, "LG-46 [Kup]" blows it out of the ballpark. There is absolutely no way someone can say TR Kup is the superior mold. Legends Kup has the superior paint scheme, and his arms look so much more detailed. Plus, the headsculpt doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

It's not really a Sakamoto thing. That style of dress does not work with anything other than string bikini style panties. I don't know about real life, but in media it is very commonly depicted with the woman wearing no underwear. And the dress is apparently a relatively common fetish in Japan as well.

I was about to ask if it was common for Shaoshao Li to be going commando as it were (since Kiss Players is supposedly so obscene, no one brings it up unless to crack a joke or something), but apparently it isn't just her...?

(Realizes Ginrei from the Giant Robo OVA oftentimes wears a short China dress.)

(With a George Takei impression) ...Ohhhh my.

    Changing the subject!

Is anyone liking Legends Hot Rod and thinking they could do without Power of the Primes Rodimus?

Because I'm in that camp! :)

I got Kup, Hot Rod and Sharkticon last night.
I really don't like Kups face sculpt. It's less 'Old Grizzled Warrior' and more 'Senile Old Man Who Forgot Where He Lives'.

Hot damn, I'm glad I ordered these! Maybe I'll just use Ptero as the head for my TR Hot Rod. I have the Brawn head on my TR Kup, he can be Shi*piece.

The colors and Targetmasters for these LG releases are excellent.
