Maybe it is because I don’t know much about the character (I am more of a Movieverse fan), yet it is really great looking combiner. So I am having hard times to decide. I am having multiple generations combiners already and their playability are all quite similar to me.

 

Yes, I know the backstory, I am just not emotionally attached with Beast Wars series.

 

I'm curious, which combiners do you have? Do you own any of their repaints, like G2 or Baldigus? Do you own any unofficial combiners, like Volcanicus or Galvatronus? These are serious questions, it'll help me analyze your collection and give you, hopefully objective feedback based on your collection.

Or not, if your real interest is more into the movie verse, than I recommend to not invest into the God Neptune set. For you it may be more of a novelty item, and in my opinion novelty items don't last long and most get sold off.

Well, I have Abominus, Bruticus, Computron, Defensor, and Sky Reign. I sold Galvatronus a year ago due to loose joints on Cyclonus’ arm. I don’t own any repaints as I don’t like to repeat torsos.

 

If you are remotely on fence mine as well secure a pre-order. You can always cancel. October is a long ways off (and knowing Pulse, it'll probably be delayed until like ~January.    )

I also updated my previous post, but I'll repost it here. I still stand by my recommendation to not get the set. If the King Poseidon figures were still available, I would recommend them over God Neptune.

Though if you really want a set of Seacons, then the only ones available are God Neptune. They are really good molds, the only similarities to the Abominus set is the same combiner similarities intrinsic to all combiner sets. They are that different enough to warrant a buy.

 

Personally, I like God Neptune’s color more than King Poseidon, and it is cheaper to buy God Neptune gift set than buying King Poseidon members individually on Hasbro Pulse. I think I might preorder even though I am still on the fence about it for now.

 

Novelty Item? I mean I am not into BW2 and as for novelty items I would say Sky Reign is a novelty item and he owns that. So maybe he is happy to own this as well? Most people will have sold of or are going to sell off most of sky reign with upcoming figures like Commander SkyLynx, and perhaps an earthrise retool for Ratchet as well as Trailbreaker and we already have a Hound replacement as well as Smokescreen.
I think that for those that love BW and particular BW2 they will be ecstatic about this figure set. And if you are in it purely for the combiners without looking too much into show/comic accuracy they will like this anyway.

 

I’m a broken record at this point but in one universe the original Seacons don armor that makes them look like this and replace two of their ranks (Tentakill and Nautilator) with Scylla. That’s my rationale behind it, plus these look better than the other colour scheme.

 

It's a real shame that TT didn't cobble some convoluted backstory in giving us a white Overbite Lobclaw.

At least he'll have the final combined weapon piece, and his normal accessories. It'll look weird with his color scheme against God Neptune, but at least you have the complete set. Or you could wait to see what TT will do, if they ever do something, or anything with that particular mold.

 

He did say that he wasn't into Beast Wars, hence my novelty comment.

 

Wait... the set does have overbite, as Sea Phantom, the set doesn't have a version of Lobclaw
