I want the Tigatron from Takara but I don't want the Blackarachnia. I swapped the legs from Buzzworthy and I'm pretty much satisfied on that version plus she has gold on the legs that was once black which makes the spider mode more kibble looking. I'd be swapping the Kingdom head on the Amazon body.

Just take a paintpen to draw the black outline of the eyes on if that's what you're after.
Managed to do a great job on mine after a few tries.

I'd like to see a Vs set with Silverbolt. I guess including him with Black Arachnia wearing a Malibu Stacey hat would be an option. Not sure what that hat would be, but I'd at least like a hat. I wouldn't mind seeing another stab at the Transmutate fossilizer though. There are a couple fan modes that better approximate the proportions that could be a basis, plus accurate colors and maybe an accessory or two to better cement the fan mode into accuracy. Could also just re-release the Transmutate BAF from the BW 10th anniversary line too. Personally I'd prefer a fossilizer re-attempt, but honestly I'd take either.

They also haven't done Agent Ravage yet in this series. Or Tigerhawk, but that'd be weird.

... are you referring to the beast mode head? I thought they were talking about swapping the show-face robot head for the mutant-face robot head... kinda hard to make that hijus face out of Tigatron's normal face.

Beast mode head, yes. I don't know if they mean beast head or robot head.

Has anyone tried swapping the T30 and Kingdom/Vs Rhinox heads?

Really not sure they're compatible. The neck balljoint on Kingdom Rhinox seems much bigger, and there's a neck clearance issue.

I mean personally I would consider it sacrilege, but statistically someone somewhere has probably tried it.

I can’t even get the Kingdom Rhinox head to pop off which is why I asked instead of trying it myself.

Thigh spacers, so he's not so short.

If they hadn't tried to reinvent the wheel with his transformation, they wouldn't have been necessary.

I'm gonna say it's the stinger and tail gap filler on the Takara Vs version and new legs on the Kingdom one.

Yeah it's weird that Hasbro goes out of their way to completely reinvent old transformations no matter what. Like, with Silverbolt, nothing was actually achieved by changing the simple, effective "beast hind legs come forward, front legs go down" process of the original, it just resulted in unecessary compromises in beast mode.

Makes me a bit worried how they'll handle the transmetals...most of them need zero changes in how their transformation works. Rattrap just needs his backpack to flip over. Rampage is the only one who needs an overhaul.

I reckon the biggest reason was to give him a waist swivel. Not really doable with the original transformation scheme. At least not on a mainline budget and scale.

I'm going to try to reply to this without it becoming a rant about how disappointing Kingdom and Legacy were.

    ...

Nope. I had to delete all that.

But it all boils down to the reasons I feel that Transmetals have to be done in the Studio Series line. The needless reinventions and reinterpretations, the abandoning of iconography, the real-world beast-modes... The design philosophy behind the Kingdom and Legacy Beast Wars figures is just plain wrong for Transmetals. Put them in SS and instantly you're on the right track.

Personally I *love* these repaints, and find the molds to be totally satisfactory. I'm 39, grew up on Beast Wars / G2 / G1. I made it my personally collecting goal as a teen to get the BW show cast, and after many years, I completed it. I later regretted selling those toys at 23. These legacy/kingdom repaints are a wonderful, easy-to-collect, reminiscent & quasi-affordable substitute for those long-lost figs.

To your point; I'd really love to see the Studio Series pick up the Transmetals.
I think its an excellent hypothesis. I hope that your prediction comes true.

It's probably a pipe-dream... but I'm also handling the Missing Link Optimus Prime I bought recently and wishing that maybe Takara Tomy would consider handling the Transmetals thataway... as Missing Link upgrades. A few more transformation steps added in (ala Rattrap's backpack swivel) & some additional articulation. I'm such a sucker for the chromed pieces, and that seems like something that generally only Encore/Masterpiece/Missing Link type lines seem to offer.
