Broadside's robot and carrier modes are great. On the other hand, his jet mode has a lot to be desired. Regardless, he'll be mine when I see him.

 

The jet mode tries, I suppose.

Luckily the rest is great.

 

i dunno.....as much as i've been wanting a broadside that jet mode is a disgrace....i..i can't

 

"A disgrace" sounds like immensely silly thing to call a toy.

 

Could the jet mode be mistransformed? Here's hoping that's the case. Regardless, the other two modes look great.

And the Trypticon poster looks awesome too. Definitely has me hyped for the full reveal!

 

See, this what bothers me about Hasbro design choices. Soundwave and Blaster are leader class that have no reason to be other then to hold the horrible legends class figures. These a voyager, that should have been leader class to give room for alt mode designs. I really like Broadside, just wish he was leader scale.

 

That poster is awesome, but I can't help wanting it to be Scorponok instead of Trypticon. He would've fit this line so much better. Not that I don't want a Trypticon in addition.

 

I don't see the mini aerialbots, what am I missing?

Broadside looks great. I painted up Alpha Trion a bit to emphasize the carrier mode in the same way.

this jet mode is terrible. i see no way around it. disgrace is pretty good way of describing it.

i already have thought a way to fix his jet mode, first unclip the fins on his leges and clip them again pointing to other way around, then isntead of pegging the legs onto his arms , just get them straight thats it, JET MODE FIXED, was it so difficult??

 

"Disgrace" I think is really over-blowing things here. Yes the jet mode sucks, but TBH it's par for the course with triple changers that one or more modes are gonna suffer for the multi-form gimmick. Besides I think it's kind of fitting how he can't get his jet mode right given what a self-parody he is by design.

I'm 99% certain that the head is molded in dark grey and dipped in white. That sticker on the deck of the carrier looks like it was done on an old black and white copier. The tail fins and elevators are too small, too high, and too backwards. Everything about this shambling pile of sad is profoundly disappointing to someone who has been hoping for a non-loser Broadside for 30 years.

 

No, I will not be buying it. Maybe if it gets the Powermaster Prime overhaul treatment (which, why would they bother for Broadside?)...

 

Disagree. I think "disgrace" is under-blowing it. Because it blows. It truly truly blows.

 

It seems pretty clear to me that Broadside is a victim of being both a retool AND a pretool. He's constrained by the existing transformation of being an Alpha Trion retool, but he's ALSO constrained by having to fit in elements like the absurd backwards elevators to make it work as a Tidal Wave pretool.

In short: Broadside is a complete tool.
