All of the exclusive people care about (sans Pissboy Bee) were released here in HK retail the same day these were sold in Osaka. Thread title is directly copied verbatim from the shipping case it came from, down to the lack of a space between the e in “Prime” and the bracket. Each case has 6 copies of Nemesis. Needless to say it is the Nemesis Prime version of SS RoTB Optimus. Product code is G1846TT00 (946199-HK) and is distributed by Hasbro HK. Packaging is the same as the Japanese packaging of RoTB Prime in B&W, but with the Decepticon logo instead of Autobot and the bio stating that Nemesis Prime is the villian version of Optimus. The background is a B&W version of the Peru Parade. Instructions are the same as the American version of RoTB Optimus. No Japanese legal stickers present. Robot mode is the same as RoTB Prime, but in Nemsis colors. As the blue is now black, this means that some parts have less paint as it’s less of an atrocity in mold layout, such as the back and the top part of the truck grille. However, the torso and the front crotch are still painted over as they are in black. The grey plastic is slightly darker this time. Truck mode is the same, with the silhouette ruining panels and all. Overall, it is a good repaint, but I have a hard time recommending it due to its MSRP. In Osaka, it’s going for ¥7,000, allegedly USD $55 when the Pulse listing goes up, and HKD $420 here. Moreover, with the inherent compromised nature of the mold being unsolved (the truck mode, mold layout, hot rod shoulders) that have been well documented, you’d be better off with getting a Nemesis KO of the mold (and would have most of these issues fixed!).
Just trying to figure out what you said. I think this is a thing. the shoulders look like they're rotating up to me.
Update: I’m not the only one where the head of Nemesis Prime is “softer”, thus making his head easier to pop off. It may be a production change. x.com
The Nemesis Prime 40th Anniversary Ver. figure strangely doesn't have the actual SS-EX label, although it should. Not sure if they just didn't want to confuse with the SS-EX BB Nemesis Prime figure. Installed the DNA Design DK-44 set on our ROTB OP figure, which pretty much saved it and fixed the main issues with it. Almost forgot how awful the stock shoulders are and how bad and incomplete alt mode looks. The Hot Rod shoulders are just terrible to pose with. If DNA doesn't release a Nemesis version of DK-44, I may end up repainting or even tie dying the red DK-44 set. The SS-EX BB NP figure remains the better exclusive since it just feels complete out the box, unlike the ROTB mold. 40th Anniversary Ver. on left versus SS-EX on right. Using the SS Optimus Primal axe. Using the DNA Design DK-44 China exclusive bonus weapons. These may be purchased separately from this Aliexpress seller (I've used them multiple times before successfully) and also on sale atm at $2.90: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806646687721.html Nevermind, deal ended. Back to $10. Edit: The alt mode is still junk. Definitely needs an upgrade kit to fix this. Can't just go by half an alt mode.
I've got the Baiwei TW-1030C Nemesis Prime coming today from Aliexpress, no way was I going to pay asking price to import this official figure. I'll be perfectly content with my KO version I paid $17 for, bad shoulders or not, but I'll probably grab an upgrade kit to fix those shoulders at least.
Nope. There is an OSKO version (by Black Mamba maybe?) but the Baiwei version is same the scale as the official SS-102.
More pics of 40th Anniversary Nemesis Prime. Still can't get over the stock shoulders after using the DNA Design DK-44 kit on SS-102 OP for a while. So annoying just doing basic arm poses. Anyhow... DK-52 China exclusive version yellow holographic globe. DK-52 comes with one 5mm blue globe and one 4mm blue globe. The China version has an extra 4mm yellow globe. The 102 OP mold is odd in that it uses 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm connections; the forearm is 4mm. DK-44 China exclusive purple colored sword blades. Purchased extra sets from Aliexpress. The exclusive bonus weapons don't come with the 2.5mm x 4mm rounded storage bars, so those come with DK-44 itself. This setup barely stays in place and used 1 DK-44 storage bar. Used 2 of the bonus DK-44 blades. This mold uses a non-standard 4mm flighstand port. The Takara tenseg base stand sets have 4mm adapters; use them as a pair of separate regular stands as the tensegrity setup is freakishly awful. Used a pair of Baiwei swords. Their Bayverse KO OP figures are trash but the accessories are fine. The orange ones are available separate in their accessories sets but the other color versions only come with the figures. Granted, some of the Baiwei figures are discounted so much, that it may be worth it for the accessories alone. Using the Perfect Effect Berzerker Sword. These used to be sold separately in deep blue and orange versions with mini gorilla bots. This version was sold with their Dark Warrior set. Edit: Custom cape and custom adapter piece for Kotobukiya saber
