A friend and I were shooting the breeze about ROTF last night, when the topic of Welker getting cast aside as in-game megs only, but now he's suddenly good enough for Soundwave. We got to talking about how anyone could probably pull off a G1 soundwave with modern technology and studio magic, and that's when brilliance struck.

T-Pain as Soundwave.

It's clearly not a serious or realistic idea, but how hilarious would it be if T-Pain had been cast as Soundwave for the upcoming film? I'd piss myself right there in the theater. On a related note, Soundwave's alt-mode = boat. "Never thought I'd be a boat" Ravage does emerge from the sea, and those port windows match up to soundwave's "orbs." We already have a character with gold teeth, and T-Pain's only every been seen wearing sunglasses, much like Soundwave's iconic visor design - T-Pain is the logical choice for a Soundwave modernization in the Bayverse.

My comment "soundwave's alt mode = boat" is a tongue-in-cheek continuation of the idea of T-Pain voicing Soundwave, based on the hugely popular SNL Digital Short "I'm On a Boat" featuring T-Pain, and attached to the original post for your convenience.

 

What are you referring to, per se? Also, have you no ability to detect humor of varying degrees of subtlety?

 

I could see it. It was just a joke, lighten up.

One time, me and my friend were contemplating a Michael Jackson alternator, with a brown car mode, and a white robot mode. It's just for laughs.

Ha ha ha...maybe Michael Bay tried holding out for him but he was unavailable so he 'settled' for Frank Welker instead (I'm being mostly facetious...mostly).

This also made me think of the mock-Michael Bay sequel script that was posted on the boards here a little while back.

 

Sure, and while they're at it, they can give Soundwave a mouthful of gold teeth and top hat. Haha! I can see it now.... Wouldn't put stuff like that past  .
