I haven't seen it on clearance yet, what the heck? I did stack a couple TRU coupons to get it, though.

Late reply but... that's no excuse. The technologies (joints, plastics, etc.) are out there, different design team or not. Use them and do what you want with the rest!

For $20 it is a steal. 2 bots, 2 vehicles in 1 toy. For what they had to work with I think they did a damn fine job.

2 vehicles is huge stretch... you only turn it upside-down and move a couple parts. Nothing mindblowing here.

It's a quadchanger in the sense that Animated Shockwave is a quadchanger or BW Transmetals are triple changers. At least the source material is a valid excuse, the Republic Cruisers were designed to be Star Destroyer forerunners.

Sorry to necropost, but this guy is now on clearance at TJMaxx for only $15. Personally as a quadchanger he sucks, but I picked him up for his Star Destroyer mode, which looks great. Plus Vader isn't that bad for those unlucky ones who missed the Death Star. Overall he's worth 15 bucks or less, but anything else is overpriced.

    Hmmm...$15 is cheap enough..

Do all the little SW Commanders link on to it somehow? They all have little flaps that pop out...

My local TJ Maxx had a bunch of these guys when I stopped in a couple weeks ago. I guess I'll swing by there tomorrow morning on my way into work and see if any are still there. $15 is about what I figured it would be worth to me.

My Marshall's has a bunch of these, I should check the price (it's prolly more than $15). I think the 4 yo might enjoy this guy as a christmas present - he likes vehicle modes most and this has firing rockets and lights and sounds.

Edit: Wait - he does have firing rockets right???
