Has anyone tried to switch the two Causality insecticons head weapons to make them a bit more accurate, at least on Stormombomb's part.

I'd buy these guys in a heartbeat if they'd release them that way.

The parts swap should be easy enough...are those the repro labels sets on the bugs pictured above?

Did you have to remove a pin to change out the mounting post? I've been looking at them, and short of pin removal, I can't figure out how to manage it.

They're easily detachable, they just unplug, then plug into a slot underneath Stormbomb's front legs, and in bug mode plug in exactly the same as his old blades did.

These are the pincers from FP's Holiday Deluxe Insecticons set, from the Chop Shop recolour, Gregg's just painted them silver to use with Stormbomb.

Sorry for not being clear - I was asking about the Stormbomb/Bombshell mod. I can't figure out how to change out the insect proboscis without disassembling things.

Sorry, I get confused with the FP names, you mean using Barrage's nose piece on Bombshell? Again, doesn't it just unplug from Barrage and then plug in to the same place on Bombshell?

You have to swap parts out to do the weapons swap, but removing the pin is super easy to do. :)

That is an awesome parts swap Gregg! I really hope FP put out a 'upgrade kit' with those parts for the original set. The ninja scheme for the FP insecticons always annoyed me.

I am actually going to paint the weapons that are with the deluxe insecticon a matching green, and the leg weapons will be paint matched to the legs and permanently glued in to place. Their main weapons will be the rifles. I have since painted the extra weapon set silver to go with the regular Insecticons. =)

Is there some secret to these pins? I have easily removed other pins from different transformers, but I can't seem to get these out.

Take a really small jewelers screwdriver and then just tap the end of the screwdriver and the pin comes right out.

Bombshell and Barrage have different horn tips. You need to swap the lower part of the horn in addition to the gun/blades tip.

You don't need to pop the pins. Just swap the entire horn. It's just a few screws!

You unscrew two screws on the piece that the bottom of the horn attaches to. Once in there, you'll see that the horn is connected by a loop tightly attached to a peg. Just wiggle and tug it out.

Do this to both Barrage and Bombshell.

    Now swap the horns.

    Screw back on.

The only downside is that Barrage's lower horn / the stem is in yellow plastic. If you can paint it black, silver, etc... it will look perfect. It doesn't look terrible on its own, but the yellow is a different shade from Bombshell's yellow bits.

I painted the horn and the gun tip from Barrage (now part of Bombshell) with black primer and then with Citadel Boltgun Metal for a metallic color. The horn that went from Bombshell to Barrage was already black plastic and looks fine on Barrage without paint or alteration.

This is the first thing I did when I opened these! Anyone interested should give it a try. The push pins come out really easy. I also went ahead and swapped the legs. I'll give my deluxe team the Ninja weapons. I do wish to hell FP included a grey set of pinchers DR. WU needs to get on this! I'd pop for a set of chrome pinchers, wings, and nose for Shrapnell, Kickback, and Bombshell!

IMHO swapping via the pin method is easier and produces a better result then unscrewing and swapping the entire stem.

There is one trick for removing push pins! You always want to push out the serrated side fist. Follow Gregg's instructions, once you get a few millimeters of the pin out, you should be able to see grooves on the pin, if you do keep going and you'll be in done in less then a minute. If you don't see grooves, give it a few more millimeters. If you still dont see grooves, or the pin becomes harder to push, switch sides and push it out in the other direction, and you too will be done in less then a minute.

When re-inserting the pin make sure the serrated end goes in last.
