Started this a while ago, but didn’t finish it until now. It’s a bit hard to see some of the details, kinda need to get better at taking pictures of my art. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Thoughts?

Love the expression and body language :)  This was done with marker? Also for pictures, just adding a bunch more light to the room will make a huge improvement for little investment(just grab some lamps from other rooms) :D

I'd either use a lighter grey or more highlights on the grey parts, as the grey right now is washing out your inks. What mediums and paper are you using?

I’m using a papermates fine liner, a mix of comic and prismacolor markers, and a multimedia sketchbook (I think?)

I was curious since some of your lines(evident on the yellow parts)are washed out. A small ruler could help with the angled surfaces as well, unless you didn't want some of the lines to look straight?

If you don't want to use a ruler, there's the following method for drawing straight lines: don't look at the pen tip nor line as it's being drawn. Start the line on 1 end but only look where it's supposed to end and keep drawing it until it gets there. This is actually easier than it sounds.

I find that sometimes, when erasing my lines, some of the ink will fade a bit. Also, some of it is probably just the light reflecting off the ink.

That method is really interesting! I'll try it out. Thank you!

You're welcome. It's a common issue for the ink to fade when erasing. What I've started to do is just drawing straight in inks, sometimes just using very thin lines before reinforcing them with more solid lines later. Part of the reason was because I got tired of dirtying up the paper and surface due to erasing pencil marks and when it faded my inks.

Ahh, I've done that before. It was pretty sketchy, though. I think I need to become more confident before I can do that

Actually, do you have an eraser shield? It's a sheet of thin metal with template cutouts for lines, circles, et al. The idea is that you cover your line and can erase the surrounding area without fading the line. If you have a local art store, it should be near the drafting supplies.
