I can't believe what just happened at a Toys For Tots drop off site in a Radio Shack near me. Every year I donate toys. I usually give one toy for a boy and one for a girl. This year I gave more. I gave a RTS Lugnut, a Star Wars Royal Starship Droid Battle Pack, A Monster High Doll and a Lalaloopsy doll. I'm friends with the people at the Radio Shack and they just called me and said they caught some ass-shat trying to swap out the toys in the box with less desired toys. They guys said it's not stealing since he's swapping for items which is the same value. He got kicked out and was told not to come in the store again. I was told that the toys he tried to swap with are toys that go on clearance after Christmas. You know the ones like those motion sensor dolls that scare the crap out of you when you pass by them.

I wonder if this guy is a collector or some scalper. It doesn't matter to me. I see him as piece of shit.

 

You could have donated Lugnut to my "kids" .... my kids being on a shelf full of other kids... lol

It doesn't matter if you are swapping or not, once ANYTHING gets put into one of those "boxes" it becomes property of the Salvation Army or whoever it happens to be that runs which ever charity they are collecting for. Taking anything out of those "boxes" without express permission of the Charity it's self is stealing.

There is nothing more to it.

 

Yeah, anyone who touches anything in those boxes is absolute scum.

 

What an assface, that is seriously low. Once they're in the box, they belong to the charity AND they're a gift to others, he has no right to switch them for anything he deems 'equal'. Wish we were all there to give him the smackdown!

okay first off, i had not looked at who posted this thread and my first reaction was some asshat is asking if people thought it was okay to swap in a toy donation bin.

Thankfully i was wrong on that and i agree that guy was a first class asshat.

 

Exactly. No one has any right to do anything else with anything in those boxes since they do not have rights to the property. Once it's tossed into the box, the transference of ownership goes from the donor to the organization receiving the donation.

 

That was an episode of "corner gas" lol (lol at the hilarious corner gas, not the asshat that stole toys from deserving little kids)

My family didn't have much when i was growing up, so i know what it's like to get one good-great toy at Christmas. the idea someone thinks a KO quality toy with some unheard name is as good as a MH doll or a Transformer, sickens me.
