Has anyone used this site before? I'm seeing mostly good recent reviews on their facebook page, but whenever I come across an item out of stock most places for a good deal on a site you've never heard off, it's probably good to get as much info as I can.
They are good. I ordered plenty of stuff from them because of free shipping and no sales tax to CA. They’ve been slow to respond and slow to ship since the pandemic started. It takes about a week after payment for them to ship out and days to reply back to emails. I would use them more for preorders but they require payment upfront.
I've used them for in stock stuff but placed some preorders recently, so will see how it goes. Ordered the Storm Collectibles Sub-Zero which should be shipping soon.
Sure Thing toys came through! Got the tip in the Amazon thread that they had wave 2 legacy Deluxes in stock. Placed an order for Wildrider and Tarantulas and they shipped already and are slated to arrive Friday! Gonna cancel my Amazon preorder now
I’ve only preordered one thing from them, and it came through. A Mezco Captain Nemo, who at the time was sold out everywhere else I looked.
So I preordered a metal structure sazabi with surethingtoys on August 3rd 2022. I paid $2000 plus tax upfront. All other online stores received it by March 2023. But only surethingtoys said they will receive their stock in August 2023. Now today is August 24th, I kept asking them for updates, there’s still no exact date when they will receive the item. I really hope I do get it. But right now it’s not looking great.
I've had stuff (Pops) on order for there for a long time, but they've come through for me and I've ordered a bunch of in stock stuff with them before; but yeah $2000 is a lot of dough to be out with no real updates. Hope they can give you one.
I've had a lot of good experiences with them. I did cancel some orders due to long delays from the manufacturer and they refunded me. I recently got Mandora's Electrocharger for 25% off there. They're good about free shipping and definitely worth keeping an eye out for sales.
It’s August 29th, still no news! I’m telling you, no matter how many good experiences you had with surethingtoys before, DO NOT buy preoder items with them!!
Yup. I have one final pre-order from them that's supposedly is arriving this month in August. After that that is fulfilled--hopefully--I'm never pre-ordering anything from them again, especially if it is an import item. If you order from SureThingToys, stick to in-stock items only.
An update: So finally surethingtoys agreed to refund me on August 29th in an email. They said it will take 7-10 business days to process the refund. Today is September 14th, the 11th business day. I still haven’t received my refund. Emailed them everyday but no response ever since August 29th. I don’t know when I will get the refund… will provide another update when I do get it.
Tbh there’s nothing you can do but wait. Import shops in my country have been hit by delays and stock cuts too. Example, they can order 50 units of a particular Bandai product and they can receive it more than 1 month later or just receive 5 units. Nothing concrete but one or two import store owners speculate that it could be the fault of the distributor(s) to mark up the price.
I doubt this is the case with surethingtoys. Metal structure sazabi was released in January in Japan, most US retailers received their stock in February or March: BBTS, entertainment earth, USAgundamstore, they all did. As far as I know, the only US retailer that offered preorder of Thai product but still doesn’t receive the stock is surethingtoys. I doubt Bandai treats this one particular store so differently than others. Please note that the initial estimated arrive date August 2023 surethingtoys put out is already 5 months later than the time other stores received them. And now it’s still not in stock. What did surethingtoys do? They just changed the estimated arrive date to September 2023. I highly doubt they will receive the stock by end of September. By that time, they will just change the date again!
This will be my final update for this particular matter. I finally received my refund! This is after about 20 emails, a phone call, and several Facebook comments. Nonetheless, I am happy with the results. I won’t take the same risk again though. Just wanted to share this with fellow collectors.
Look at the estimated arrive date. This store is shameless. In the Metal Build thread, another follow collector fell into surethingtoys’ trap and he is finding ways to get refund now.
