I am just taking an informal poll here...

How many people would be interested if Hasbro took the supreme Platinum Starscream mold, repainted the body, removed the shoulder pieces next to the head and gave it IDW Overlord's head, who'd be interested in buying it?

.......... nah, over-sized and downs not split into Overlord's two main components. Id much prefer anew mould, leader class sized from Takaratomy.

It would need some severe retooling beyond what you mentioned... better off doing a whole new mold for it.

At one time I would even have been happy with Armada Tidal Wave repainted into Overlord but now, no way he has to be a completely new mold, with his two distinct vehicle modes, my expectations are much higher. So no, Supreme Starscream won't work for me, now Cybertron Voyager Starscream as Dai Atlas? That might warrant a purchase from me....

Unless you're a Hasbro/Takara purist, I suggest waiting for MMC's efforts rather than pursue a repaint of an outdated Starscream.

People other than Hasbro/Takara purists can prefer to wait for a new mold.

I'd love an overlord, but I don't fancy the idea of dropping hundreds of dollars on a toy. Plus, with how quickly many of these things sell out, the only sure way to get one is pre-order, which usually means committing to that huge purchase long before the item is even released.

I honestly can't visualize it. Besides he's too big.
The only reason why I even own Supreme Starscream is so he can terrorize my Predacons and Maximals.

If I were a Radicon, that wouldn't be a bad idea. But if it was just a Hasbro repaint...no, I don't think it would work.

However, that being said, it is a phenomenal customs idea.

With (IDW) Overlord being a battle cruiser a Hasbro repaint seems like the only way we would get a non 3rd party version of it.

Though I would love if a 3rd party did an IDW Overlord head, and while I wait for that I will also wait for the 3rd party Nick Roche style Chromedome head.

Half expected to see some kind of digibash, but I can see it's a newer thread.

I'm curious to see what it might look like, but I am not sure I would want it anyway.

    No.

Cybertron Starscream works better as Dai Atlas.

Cybertron Megatron is probably the only mold that would work for Overlord.

    Wrong Cybertron figure to use.

If any mold would make a killer Megatron it would be Overlord.

The Voyager version of Cybertron Starscream as Jhiaxus. The cool G2 villain not the wimpy IDW scientist.

I'd be happy with Tidal Wave as Overlord.

I tried it from the Universe Dirge. Came out lousy, but while most of that was my fault, the arms just don't have the IDW look I was after. That most of us are after.

Couldn't care less about triple changing or whatever, since we've only ever seen a spaceship mode in the comics.

If we can't get a new mold for Overlord (including Mega & Giga), then I've always thought that Energon Megatron might serve - it has the jet, it has the tank, and the two can combine into a united altmode. Give him an appropriate head and a remolded chest, and it might serve.

Ideally, though Overlord needs a new mold, with all the main features of the original and posability on top of it. Make him a playset for Legends/Cyberverse Deceptions.

Heck, make him Titan class, the Decepticon answer to Metroplex! And yes, I know I'm dreaming, but I'd say a `Con that turns into a base/weapons factory deserves Titan class.

    No.

I'm sure some talented Guys on here could cut that Turkey up and make it work but I'm pretty sure Hastak can't/won't.

    New mould or don't bother.
