Standing roughly about 16 inches, This Starscream towers many other transformers figures, being a huge F-22 Jet he should be huge! He has been completely repainted into realistic F-22 Colors and detailed to match his movie appearance. His fingers are semi-articulation and hands are on ball joints. His weapon is custom to match more closely to his movie counterpart. Also an attachment for his saw weapon which spins very well. Which is a real metal saw
Xaviercal, great work! I'm happy to say that I'm the proud owner of this particular figure and I'm quite impressed with his shelf presence (got him posed right next to my monitor on the computer desk). Here are a couple of snaps I took of him! That's the Voyager-sized Human Alliance Barricade (also customized by xaverical) and Robot Replicas Frenzy (another custom job but by an unknown) next to him. Love how Starscream and Barricade scale next to each other (I added my own little personal touches to their respective weapons along with some metallic paint here and there)! Thanks for the awesome custom! Excellent work, my friend! Comparison with MPM-01 Movie Masterpiece Starscream. I believe it's the oversized KO (with Starscream's G1 red, white, and blue deco). It's the only figure using the mold in this size class that I'm aware of.
Heh, sorry. MPM-1 is the one figure (along with Takara MP-03 Walmart Starscream) I bought on a whim that got me back into collecting Transformers hardcore (circa 2009). It holds a special place in my collection (and my heart).
Sorry to hear it as MPM-1 is a great figure. Yeah, the aftermarket prices on it are ridiculously high. There's always some hope that the Asian Premium Series sub-line will reissue Starscream again (along with either Ironhide or Sentinel Prime with a premium paint job). Back on topic, Ben's Collectibles has a pretty thorough review of the oversized version of the mold that was used as a basis for this particular custom figure: Sirtoys Transformers ROTF HFTD Oversized Leader Starscream Taikongzhans
Would it be easier/more affordable to commission the oversize KO painted up like the MPM-01 such as yours?
Perhaps, but that's a question best asked of a customizer such as xaviercal. (I'm not a professional customizer aside from some minor kitbashes here and there.) I'm sure he can give you a quote if you contact him.
So I have an unpainted version of this mold with the red white and blue. How did you get such Dynamic poses out of the legs? All of the joints and mine are tight but the legs really do lack some articulation that I see here. Did you modify the legs? The reason I'm asking is because I plan on using him for stop motion but I can't do that if he lacks all kinds of articulation. Is it possible if you can do a tutorial on how you modified two legs if you did?
No and they haven't been for some time. This thing is literally one of the rarest pieces in the collection
